The NESer Neptune's Pride Thread!

Neptunes Pride has recieved a pretty large update recently. http://triton.ironhelmet.com/#landing

From what I can gather the main differences are:

HTML5 so works on smartphones/tablets.
New UI that works much better on small screens.
No more speed research, so ships stay slow and ponderous for the duration of the game.
7 types of research vs the 4 of NP1, and research is much slower.
 
First impression is mixed, just looking at the screenshots. I hope they've thought through these tech changes - did I see a 'banking' tech in there?
 
I really love the smartphone compability bit.

I really hate the speed tech bit, since that was the one tech I always blitzed and blitzed.


I'd be down for a game, provided that one of terrance/Thlayli/Iggy was also in.
 
I'm about to be away from a computer for a while after my exams finish, so this isn't a good time for me.
 
I'm not quite feeling an NP mood right now either. I'm sure we can arrange another game later, if peeps want to test things out in the meantime - happy to sit back and watch this one :)
 
It's also turn-based apparently, with 12-hour turns?
 
No, as in ships only move every 12 hours. That, combined with the Speed tech removal, would seem to effectively gut the game.
 
I'm interested & I think the turn based is optional. The removal of speed tech keeps things sane for me, was checking the game all the time towards the end of the last one.

I think you can research/build things to allow fleets to move faster between your own planets but I'm not sure on that.
