The NESer Neptune's Pride Thread!

Er. Did the game really fill up that quickly?

You're kidding. 30 minutes, and it's all gone? Someone else able to start on for those of us who happened to be doing something else in that brief window?

1. Apparently you can't leave games, even before they start. Once you press the join button, for now, you're stuck in.

2. Games are filling up /really/ fast.

Leads to conclusion:

3. We're either going to have to all get on #nes and join a game within the same minute, or wait for bugs to get ironed out and hype to die down.

Edit:
4. Ooh, star names are links inside of diplomacy now. As in you can just click on them to figure out what the other people are talking about. That's a feature I really wanted in the original.

From what I understand, terrance's is him and bestshot + randoms, and mine is randoms + me.

We could set up a private NES one... but it would involve someone actually forking over money :p.

1. You get to choose starting positions, which rocks.

2. Tech sending scales.

3. Whoa, I like the idea of some of these techs, but other techs are obviously OP in the beginning, then UP almost anytime else. Who won't get banking tech in the beginning for a free 50 cred?

240 research points aren't worth 50 cred, I feel. Though I'm just as new to this as you.

What exactly does General Research do?..

Banking tech is OP turn 1.

General Research sounds like the Banking Tech version of Science. A generic bonus.

Manufacturing is entirely different from those two, since it directly affects the value of the and efficiency of the industrial investments, and not merely the state's take/income overall.

Gen research could make science facilities more effective, and economy can make economic facilities more effective.

Of course, they did it to make it more simple. I would guess if they could just make manufacturing tech give you +1 ship per day somehow, they would do that.
