The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

This was surprisingly viable. I know I am kind of behind, but... barbarians are barely an issue now. As long as I keep ONE city in China, I am stable.

I'd really like to know how this looks lategame.

Oh right it's almost April. Thought Hygro was here for a second.

in my current mughal game i'm experiencing all kinds of weird anomalies..a "super-thailand" as described above is among them.

Russian city names are messed up big time. I hope this is not the latest commit.

Prussia restoring the HRE, not too incredible I suppose, but certainly a surprise.

Russia, on the other hand, is an abomination, stretching from sea to shining sea. Turkey is their collapsing vassal.

Thank god I'm at friendly relations and have a defensive pact with them...

Don't do it, man. Having a defensive pact with Russia only strengthens them. The ONLY POINT of this ENTIRE GAME is to destabilize Russia.

Divide and conquer. Get the world to turn on them. Vote against them in every congress. Mediate peace in wars they are winning. You have to RONALD REAGAN the FUDGE out of them.

Edit: Was going to say that nothing out of the ordinary in the screenshots, except for RUSSIAN LIBYA. Wow! Looks like you need to OBOMBA the place to bits, too!

Wow! I've never seen such an impressive Thailand!

Spam nukes/collateral damage weapons. Use your defensive pact with russia to drag them into as many wars with their neighbors as possible. Then when move their army away attack them. Granted last time I tried to attack russia in the industrial and later era it didn't work, but it might work.

So says an American.

As Portugal, Brazil spawned... in July 1848... with this city only... after the British collapsed. I had solid stability. The shock is real. Poor Brazil.

Shouldn't Chartres be named Port-au-Prince or Tortuga or something?

On an Aztec 3000BC start (i.e. pics from 1200AD):

Spoiler :

Sassanid Persia has stood the test of time :crazyeye: . Also Chinese Samarqand.

Greece and Rome (note: not Italy) seem to be doing pretty fine too. French city in Turkey and Tamil city north of the Black Sea (blocked by the menu icons).

That is some screwed up Egypt.

Additionally, I had an Orthodox Christian Moors invade me in 1380 :| Isn't that too soon? Cortes attacked Mexico in the 1500's. And for some reason (coincidence) Catholicism was founded on the turn they attacked me:lol:

AI usually have caravels quite early, they just don't send them to Aztec and Incan territories right away. I wonder if new world conqueror events should have other triggers.

Chinese Samarkand is borderline historical. Like it's a very close 'how thing's almost were' scenario.

The 14th century: Mansa Musa decides to perform his hajj in Mecca. He crosses the Sahara, and discovers that, interestingly, all the old empires (Rome, Greece, Carthage) are still going strong, and that somehow (Ancient) Egypt is the world leader.

Then he gets to Jerusalem ...

Something went very, very wrong with the crusades, apparently. The Tamils also head a city in northern Mesopotamia, I think, and were second in score.

Also: Persia vassalized the Arabs and did their own crusade to take Mecca.

Babylonia survived til 960 AD under the guise of three different masters. It outlasted all of them.
