They evade Byzantine lands in Africa and middle east. In ALL of Africa and middle east. So the question is, what to YOU want in south Africa?

@Mongols in Japan:
Are you playing the mongols? The most OMG is that they control frigate.

Well, they did have stacks near Konstantinople and Baghdad as well and in my last game they had one in southern Egypt, so they're not really avoiding anything...

And I like that spot: you get gold, gems, sugar and sometimes if you're lucky even a slave.
And since I'm not going for the UHV (notice the lack of a golden age the turn after UHV 2 is to be done) I wanted to settle there before the Mughals and Mongols disrupt my happyres-trades with India and China.
The goal is to win a URV :)

@ Mongols: they tech really, really, fast currently. In my games they often are the first to reach Liberalism, if I'm not playing their opponent (Russia/China)

They are too stable, because they have the largest core area. For example Kwarezmia is in their core area! With the new stability system, their core area should be limited in Mongolia.

Seconded. Ever since the new stability system has been implemented, I've only seen them collapse once.

Nope, that's the situation at a Netherlands start I rolled for unrelated purposes.

I know, I have already nerfed their tech rate in my working copy, but didn't have the time to test it. I gave them more starting techs a while ago so they really don't need to be on par with the Middle Eastern powers any more.

I think Khwarezmia only flips to them but isn't in their core. You should also consider that their core mostly contains small cities while populous China and so on are outside of it. They still need some rebalancing, which I began by removing a special expansion rule they received which I considered necessary for some reason.

Non european conquerors just for one turn, Mughal caravels, too late conqueror event (after 1500AD!!!), plague event at the same time, false conqueror placement... Too much elements to characterise a unique OMG event...

Mughal conquerors happen occasionally, and the Conqueror event doesn't expire in 1500. The only thing that's really unusual is where the conquerors spawned.

I confess I've never seen Mughal conquerors. I've seen Indian ones once, though.
