The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

I was experimenting with the Mayans and saw the "The Great Wall has been built in a far away land!" message. I consider the date to be rather late so I WB'ed to check it out, and saw this. At first I thought the Chinese built it, but then I couldn't find the exterior part of the wall. Until then did I realize the Great Wall might be located in Haojing. I can't find any explanation for it though!

It was built in Haojing and the turn it was finished by China the city was taken possibly?

I was thinking more about secession, but I can't explain the barbarian and war elephant part. If it were secession then the city should've gone indie.
I'm pretty sure minor civs can't build the Great Wall. Barbarian takeover may be the only plausible reason for this to have happened.

IIRC secessions to barbs can happen, though I could be wrong

Secesion to barbarians can happen (never forget the mali pilgrimer who wants to go to barbarian Mecca )

The city ceded to ruins.

That's what happens to Harappa so their cities are gone to give way for India and Persia. And the cities also get massive so it gives an unfair boost if they're conquered.

Barbarians almost never build up enough culture to make cities secede. Barbarian Mecca is a result of collapse or, more rarely, conquest.

Sometimes you can even see Confucianism founded outside of China.

Hi everybody:

It has been a long time since my last post, but I've never forgotten this great modmod and I often play it.

I'm playing as the Byzantine Empire and I've stopped arab and seljuk invasions. :king: . My economy works so well so I discovered Optics by 1213 A.D. and crossed the unknown oceans...

In unknown lands I've discovered new civilizations. Their conquer were almost completed when mongol hordes invaded ....hmmmm... my NEW TERRITORY!! :run:
