That women are so relatively picky about the attractiveness of men motivates men to want to subdue women or something like that?

You can even thicken the plot if you want! If bodice rippers are about the only thing keeping the paper publishing industry afloat(well, not them entirely, but they're big in the genre that is) then where, when, and how much does wanting to be subdued play in? <creepy music>

Neither of them are percentiles though, and the second one would probably be a gaussian distribution if you were allowed negative ratings.

[edit: what Mise said, only with my much cruder grasp of statistics.]

edit2: Going back to my original post, it was really the "curve" bit more than the "bell" bit that I was focusing on, because I was trying to figure out if people grade attractiveness on a curve or as straight percentiles. It's not really important if 1-2 or 9-10 are on a different curve than 3-8.

You did not have the courtesy to answer me, though. At first I thought it was just supposed to explain a rather casual social observation of yours. Now I think it may have a political dimension.
Here is my current guess: That women are so relatively picky about the attractiveness of men motivates men to want to subdue women or something like that?

Your first guess was the right one. Sorry to not answer, I've been at my cousin's wedding and haven't had CFC-style energy. Yes, I was imprecisely articulating how those graphs seemed to have summed up my experience, and the experiences of those who I have talked to, about the difficulties in dating and the expressed gender differences in dating here and now.

I figure if someone is going to get angry at me and expect me to mind read or play guessing games, they can play without me. I have no idea what metatron is on about. Terx had the courtesy of asking what I meant. metatron imagined his own meaning and subsequently took offense. He proceeded to allude to his own private train of thought and cryptically reference an awfully specific number of conversations as if somehow I should know.

And then accuses me and Mise (I think?) of strawmanning.

I can understand people not understanding other people. But I can't understand myself. And I have tried. I think I just show a total lack of ambition in trying to make sense. I blame other people's parents and... dog owners, and global warming. Probably.

It's not a normal distro, OKC posted it raw - which makes it more compelling.

black, ala the red and black of the Iberian revolution in the '30s

pink, as in you pinko-commie (although that might be a misconception)

right, that. I honestly can't say why it would make a difference, but the authors of the article that OKC posted about that matter indicated it was important.

Yeah, they probably said something like "we haven't even tried to normalise it and yet it still looks remarkably like a normal distribution".

Rather frustrating, tbh. How do I get around it and still keep adblock on?
Personally, I disable Adblock on a few sites I'm happy to visit, as they support themselves with adverts.
^That, man.

How to say "thank you" in Babylonian?

We are playing Rhye's and Fall of Civilization MP mod for BTS via email with 6 other humans. I am Carthage and my Vassal Babylonia just gifted me a Phalanx unit to fight Rome, who is down to 2 cities. Now, years earlier Babylon got that Phalanx from Greece by exchanging him for Asharittu Bowmen. I felt so grateful. SO how to make them feel special?

Also why Wikipedia or any online resource has no articles about elite Asharittu warriors? They are really Assyrians, I gather.

How does CFC determine what ads to show me? I don't visit "conservative" news sites, so I am guessing the ads come from trigger words in my posts or something? I mean, I read BBC and Kansas City Star primarily, so I am not sure how my browser cookies could lead it to think I read conservative news. Eh, either way, it was an amusing ad :)

Based on your phone app choices.

My apps are the Kansas City Star, Yahoo, and BBC news... I have no "conservative" apps.
