True Colors?

Don't forget "This is a center-right country!"

Well, US politics are certainly right of the center. But so are the Democrats.

Republicans seem to be so far on the right wing, that the actual left has dropped off their horizon.

When the far right is calling an at-worst centrist politician a far-left socialist communist Antichrist and all that jazz, you start to wonder if there is any high-level left-wing politics left in the United States.

Social issues with Hispanics at least, and not making a big fuss about immigration, maybe even supporting immigration reform.

so basically being more centrist? ;)

On socialism:

John Behner just publicly admitted Obamacare is now the law of the land.

3 years after it became the law of the land and months after confirmed by the Supreme Court.

Still, it's a win for socalism in America.

No, it's a win for 1990s Republicans in America. Which are apparently 2010s Democrats.

I predict that now his slide to the right is over. He will smoothly slide back up hill to the left until he is the king of the hill again. That is where he was before he decided to run for president.

People were predicting the same after 2008. You'll have to forgive me if I don't immediately believe you.

EDIT: Already said.

That was my sarcastic take on republican attacks on Obamacare. Incidentally, NPR finally admitted on-air that the label Obamacare is here to stay. I lol'd

Lol, see this attitude is why the GOP is going to lose again. How do you plan on getting this generic minority vote?

Oh, oh, I know! Mass-media misinformation campaigns using wedge issues to create minority voters willing to vote against their own interests.

It's worked OK so far*. No Presidency this year... but maybe if they find a candidate a little further to the right...?

*But perhaps minorities tend to be less gullible than white people? So... 200 years of racism because only enough white people were dumb enough to believe racist tripe? Who wants to write a paper on it?

Less gullible? Don't they just work harder for their money?
