No to be an Obama fanboy, but I really feel he is shifting the political discourse/trajectory to center left.

I can't remember where I heard this, but some talking head commented the other day that the party that controls the presidency after the country comes out of a major depression or recession has gone on to dominate politics for decades. Not sure how true that is since it only took till Eisenhower to break the democratic lock. But then again, from Roosevelt term I to Eisenhower was what, 20 years? And dems still controlled congress after that for a long long time.
