Ultimate Wishlist for potential Civ6 leaders

I didn't know who Sayyida Al Hurra was until you mentioned her. I'll add her to the list..

Thank you! I'm hoping Firaxis eventually stumbles on her. A female Islamic pirate queen seems like something they'd include in a heartbeat to expand consumer interest.

What about a Tongan leader for Polynesia? Or perhaps a Samoan leader? These are more to the heart of Polynesia, and where much of Polynesia sprouted from.

If you would like to suggest specific Tongan or Samoan rulers, please do! Otherwise, I'll try to research them.

Ok, the Polynesian leader wishlist already had some Samoan/Tongan leaders, but I've added some more.

Actually I don't know much about leaders of Polynesia. Which ones are Tongan, and which ones are Samoan?

Usually the Samoan ones have "Malietoa" in their name. While a lot of the Tongan leaders have "Tupou" in their name. You could always click on the name to see the Wiki pages. :)

Thank you. The Wiki link doesn't seem to work for all of them though.

Do you which leaders for which the link doesn't work properly?

Nanyehi would be a reasonable addition to the list of Cherokee leaders.

I think this list is the best thing ever.

As a Pole, I'd like to review your choice of Polish leaders ;)

There is one extremely important person missing from the list. Tadeusz Kosciuszko. He is insanely popular Polish national hero and highest leader of last desperate attempts to save the nation from partitions. He is so popular and important I'm pretty sure he'd be in every kind of list of "most popular Polish people of history" and near top of "most popular Polish leaders of history" rankings. He is the kind of leader who would not generate even the smallest controversy when added to the game, everyone would nod "yep, Kosciuszko, cool choice". There are even minorities of people who criticize Chrobry, Casimir, Sobieski and Pilsudski for various controversial aspects - Kosciuszko is pure.

Otherwise, no major Polish leaders are missing. There are however several that shouldn't be even allowed to come near "potential leaders" lists.

Stanislaw August Poniatowski - the most controversial figure of entire Polish history, with overall opinion of historians and public tending to be negative. He was a sort of submissive lover of Catherine the Great which is already pathetic, ineffectual, unpopular, and ultimately failed to protect the country after doing many questionable acts. Pls no.

Augustus II and Mieszko II are considered one of the worst Polish kings ever lol, the second one almost led to complete annihilation of Poland and first one would be considered borderline insulting to appear in civ :p

Henry the Pious was one of many feudal princes of divided Poland who is obscure in every regard except his utter defeat (and death) versus Mongols.

Boleslaw II is another very controversial figure for the court conflict that caused him to torture and kill the bishop (now considered saint) and as a result being kicked out of his own throne and country by public backslash lol.

If I was to want an alt leader for Arabia, I wanted to see a Female leader and I say Shajar Al-Durr is perfect for the second leader. I may come with other suggestions for Female leaders for Arabia but as long as the alt leader for Arabia isn't where Egypt is on TSL earth I'll be happy though I'm open to any new leader, I'd prefer a female leader. Also on my wishlist is I want a Female leader for Rome. If I remembered right, Livia lead Rome in Civ 2, so I'd be open to her coming to Civ 6 or any Female empress of the Roman empire or a Female leader when it was a Republic.

I just looked into the Civ 4 leaders and actually found Victoria, Churchill and Elizabeth all leading England, you may disagree OP that Greece has enough leaders at two, civ 4 has three English leaders so It's entirely possible that Greece could have three leaders as well in Civ 6. I also want Elizabeth to return to Civ 6 as she's the only classic leader that has been in every civ game left to add to civ 6, Since we have Ghandi, Alexander, Shaka, and Ghengis Khan already added.

Sayyida Al Hurra sounds like an Interesting choice for Morocco, If the first leader for Morocco isn't her she would be high on my list for morocco leaders to alternately lead Morocco. Hopefully Firaxis runs into her history for Morocco.

In Civ 4 there were four civs with three leaders:
England - Elizabeth, Victoria, Churchill
United States - Washington, Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt
France - Louis, Napoleon, de Gaulle
Russia - Peter, Catherine, Stalin

The thing about Civ IV, however, is that it had many civs with more than one leader already in the vanilla version, and also leaders did not have different colours for their civs. The problem with Civ VI is that the designers have made this game that is perfect for a civilization to have multiple leaders with the whole leader ability thing (which I actually had predicted would happen after seeing what they did with Civ V), but for some reason they just don't seem to do anything with it. It is really weird that so far only two civs have two leaders. It is also stupid, I think, that each leader has their own colour scheme. And I really don't think that any civ in Civ VI will end up having three leaders because Alexander was not added as a third leader for Greece, but instead got his own civ.

Sami people suggestion
leaders
Svåse
Synnøve Svåsedotter
Isak Saba
Lars Levi Læstadius

(since they are not a state traditional leaders of all the people are not to be had but sure can find good leaders from all the different areas.
As a civ they could introduce reindeers and other artic features that could be fun to have.
