VoxPopuli Modpacks (Update: 4.16.1)

Hi, I have a question, I changed the speed/cost of science in the VP mod,but I'm not able to do it here, I'm changing " C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\ZMP_MODSPACK \Mods\(2) Vox Populi (v 17)\Database Changes\Tech" in TechCostSweeps but it is not changing in the game itself when I go directly to a player without going through the mod menu, the science cost remains the same I am doing something wrong?

You have to change the files inside " C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\ZMP_MODSPACK\override". Especially the "CIV5Units.xml" one.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to be asking this question, but I have a very annoying CTD, which is consistent. The game crashes when I get to Classical Era with Babylon. If I load an auto-save, it shows the "Welcome to the Classical Era" screen, but still crashes afterwards. I also tried switching to strategic view, but that didn't help either.

I tried verifying the game files. I downloaded the latest version of the modpack (4.14.1) with all the additional features; I don't have any other mods installed. I have issues with the game crashing in certain situations, but I can't pinpoint the problem. Nothing critical in the logs either. Maybe someone can help identify the issue? To reproduce it, advance to the classical era on the attached save file. I also added the logs in case something could be found in them.

I have a similar problem, I have a save where in the India round my game crashes and closes, and in another save when it's the barbarians' turn to play it crashes, I never had this problem but now that I downloaded VP as DLC this is happening, I don't. I wanted to go back to VP mod because I won't be able to do the achievements and I don't even know what else to do, I've already declared war, I've already switched to the strategic view, I've cleared the cache but nothing is working.

Has the version of 4UC in this modpack been reverted back to v87 between the 4.14 and 4.15 versions?

Yes, because I mainly doing modpacks to help people to play multiplayer, and I am not sure that the version v88 is stable in multiplayer so I prefer to use the v87. But don't worry 4 U/C will be part of the base of VP with the next big update.

Hi, haven't played Civ 5 for almost a decade, coming back from nostalgia... which modpack would you advise? I don't mind having lots of random mods, my game was super modded back then and it was fun. But I don't remember much stuff about the game. I'm only interested in single-player and with a rather hard difficulty. Also, will that work with the Stem version, without DLCs?

I'd simply go for the last version, it get more interesting stuff, and you should definitely get 4UC too. As of DLC's, you need all of them to play VP. You can use the steam version, no problem.

Quick question for anyone using the multiplayer modpack and using the tectonic map... What is the correct way to install it so it shows in your map list and loads correctly? The tectonic map download has a .civ5mod file which I'm guessing won't work because it requires you to go via the mod menu. Alternatively there is a .lua map file and a text file, but where are these supposed to go? Because I see references to maps in both my Steamapps folder and my documents folder.

You have to create a modpack with the map as a mod, alternatively you can just put the .lua inside your Map folder (the one in "asset" folder). If you just put the map in the map folder the map options will have strange names but should work I think ?

Hi, I want the basic Vox Populi experience accessible in Hotseat. I haven't played Civ 5 in over 5 years and back then I only tried Vox Populi single player.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to download. VP along with the modpacks, or just the modpacks, and if so, which one exactly?

Edit: I think I get it. It should just be this link:

VP Only modpack with EUI: 4.15.2_VP-EUI.zip

Is there an issue if I also have VP installed as a mod? My understanding is that VP is a normal mod, and a modpack works more like a DLC, so as long as I don't activate VP, I'll be fine?

You pretty much got it correct. You can either install the mod and then load the mod from the menu every time when you want to run vox populi.

Or you can unzip that file into the dlc folder and the game will treat it like a dlc.

Either or.

I prefer modpack because once the game boots up you cam get right into playing. Otherwise you would then have to wait for the mod to load.

And if, for some crazy reason you wanted to return to vanilla civ you simply remove the folders that you put into your dlc folder.

Hey is this why my buddie is having an issue loading our mp save game? We are playing on comunitus in the map folder. Not the modpack.
I can load our saved game. But my buddie gets the error that it cant be loaded because other players are using a dlc that he doesnt have.

You should have the same map folder with the same maps inside. When playing multiplayer only the maps inside the MAP folder that is inside the "asset" folder is used. To be more precise multiplayer do not use the map folder inside "documents/mygame/civilizationV" folder.

so in 4.15.2 version should I remove the "(4a) Squads for VP (v 1)" mod before playing multiplayer? or is the squads modmod mentioned in the original post something different?
