Being stuck at home lately, I've been watching YouTube a lot more than I usually do.
"Thoughts on Tomes" focuses on fantasy & sci-fi. She likes a lot of what I like, and I enjoy her delivery. I think the way she talks with her hands would be incredibly distracting in person, but I kind of like it in a video.
18-yr-old Ronda Rousey vs. 14-yr-old Kayla Harrison at the 2005 USA Judo Championships. Not the whole match, but Harrison seems to be out of her league here. Unsurprising, I suppose, given the age difference. A 4-year difference as adults wouldn't be enormous, but I imagine the difference between an 18-yr-old and a 14-yr-old would've been significant. Unfortunately, a competitive rematch now wouldn't make a lot of sense, because Harrison grew into a much larger adult (Harrison won her judo medals at 78kg/172lbs and competes in MMA at 155lbs; Rousey won her judo medals at 64kg & 70kg/139lbs & 155lbs and competed in MMA at 135lbs).
The trailer for
A Quiet Place 2, which was supposed to open last Friday.
A Quiet Place was one of my favorite films of 2018. Maybe I'll watch it again (Hulu & Amazon Prime both have it). I think Emily Blunt has *ahem* quietly become one of sci-fi's greats. I also liked
The Adjustment Bureau, which doesn't get a lot of love, and I always forget that she was in
Looper, albeit in a supporting role. When I heard she'd done a fantasy movie with Charlize Theron, I practically sprinted to my computer to see it and was crestfallen to find that it was
The Huntsman: Winter's War.

Oh well.
