What political organizations are you a member of?

Democratic Party. No need to pretend I'm not a party member (by not officially registering) just because I value independent thinking.

VFW and DAV (Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans). Both are charities/advocacy groups for veterans. Political activities include lobbying for expansion of veterans' benefits or trying to stop the government from reducing veterans' benefits.
There's a couple of causes that I can get behind. If you can fight for your country, you should be taken care of by your country when you come back all messed up. I don't know what it is like in the US, but the state of veteran's affairs in Canada is deplorable.

I will probably never belong to any, as I don't want to throw my hat into any one political party's ring, as I will usually disagree with some part of their platform. As such I prefer to vote on an election by election basis, by picking the best candidate that's running. I don't want to be one of those "I support my party in everything they do" people, I hate those morons.

I'm not a member of any but I sometimes have wondered if I should join the party I've always voted for

Political correctness.

It seems the state of veteran's affairs in the US tends to go up and down with time, but it is never considered adequate. It just fluctuates between "abysmal" and "not as crappy". Especially when it comes to medical care for veterans.

I was a member of D66 when I was 18.

To explain to American posters, it is the kind of party you'd get if you amagalmed the most liberal elements of the democratic party with the libertarian party.

I'm a registered Republican but more active in the Libertarian party. Used to be registered (L) but we have a closed (R) primary so...

Municipal elections are coming up next month (we have them every 4 years). Yesterday I registered for an in-home special ballot (available to physically disabled people with mobility issues that prevent going to a regular polling station).

So I know exactly what date and time I'll be voting. The DRO/poll clerk will come to my home, and the whole process will take less than 5 minutes.

Now what I need to do is find out who's running, what they stand for, and decide who to vote for. There are three areas: Mayor, City Council, and school board. I'll be asked if I support the public or Catholic board, so they know which school board ballot to issue.

Are there any attac members on CFC? I have been advocating for a financial transaction tax ftt ever since I was 15 years old, one of my few political beliefs I stand by even a decade after. Still I am not a member, though most of my inner circle is.

The Robin Hood tax should be effective in the EU somewhere in 2018.
Rates much too low in my opinion, but once the mechanism is there, it can grow.

I did not know about attac (after my time). Digged into it. Interesting enough. Looks like a broad connected social movements deep civil society counter to neoliberal globalisation.
Branch in the Netherlands does not exist anymore.
Looking at the long list of goals/issues/points of concern, what would you guess is the current top 3 ?

I'm a member of the Democratic Party of the US. Once upon a time I was an elected school board member. I miss that volunteer work to be honest.

Registered Libertarian, though at this point, begrudgingly allied with Democrats in the 2016 presidential (and by extension 2020) election.

Before the SJWs hijacked the party, Democratic Party. Now I consider myself independent.
