His best Pole role was in The Great Escape, where he is the chief tunnel building director guy.

I have a two-part history of Poland called God's Playground. An apt and descriptive name, if I dare say so.
I was just going to check that out. Does it have any info on pagan Lithuania? My prof suggested I get it, but if it doesn't have info on that, then I'll have to change my paper topic.

Hey! I like Civ5 too! :(

Fine, you can take England if you want to join in too? Or one of the many other historical opponents of Poland?

Eh, I'll take Egypt or the Songhai. If I'm closer I can get a bigger slice of the cake :mischief:

On Pagan Lithuania read "The Northern Crusades" by Eric Christiansen.

Eastern Europe is anything East of the Danube River -- so, anyway, I voted for Eastern Europe.

You are real "master of geography", because East of the Danube River is Black Sea... :

Poland is North of the Danube River, you Mr "I Know Everything About European Geography"...

Did you complete the map yourself or what happened to Moldova's border and the Black Sea coast?

I would like to point out that this map also lacks Montenegro and Kosovo.

No one has asked the obvious question.

What is the point of Poland?

It served as a nice buffer between Nazi Germany and the USSR -- but it is not a nation, in spite of he common language -- there are no historical geographic boundaries or common culture, save for each city.

North and east. But I didn't kite a google map to make my conclusion, I was using my keen intellect. I.e., Eastern Europe includes Poland, But not the Balkans. Anyway, they were all liberated by the USSR during WWII, and that counts.

North and east.

If Poland is east of the Danube, then it is west of the Danube as well.

Because the Danube is much longer than Poland (along the west-east axis).

For example the Danube flows through Galati and Izmail - and Poland is definitely west of these two cities...

Even the easternmost part of Poland is still west of Galati...

Anyway, they were all liberated by the USSR during WWII, and that counts.

So was Berlin. Does it mean that Berlin is in Eastern Europe?

BTW - the Balkans were also liberated by the USSR during WW2. So why they are not in Eastern Europe?

Poland is North, South, East and West of the Danube. By virtue of its Yemeni colonies.
