Where is Poland?

Where is Poland?

Oh yeah. That makes sense. I got it wrong.

Still. Wasn't Poland better situated in North Africa? When it was there, I mean.

Nonono. Only joking.

Exactly. Don't ask "where is Poland". Ask "where Poland should be" / "where it would be better situated":

Moving England to North Africa (as a North African island) was a good move, IMO. :mischief:

If England was there, Poles would have even more reasons to emigrate to England - not only better-paid jobs, also warmer climate!

And a few million Poles already live in Britain's current location - so shifting Poland there (after moving Britain to North Africa) is also a good idea.

Giving Poland Irish neighbours is also a good idea - two most Catholic European countries finally next to each other! :mischief:

OMG, that was dreadful! Still, Tyje Isle o' Poland would be nice. Welcome, new Celtic brothers!

Still, I digress. He was seeking political asylum (successfully). Not an economic migrant like all these Polish people. They seem to be literally everywhere! I'm not complaining, mind you. But they're always jabbering away in foreign while I'm studying the price of bananas. Very distracting.

There is a solution:

Good grief, wasn't The Economist supposed to be a serious paper?
They have never let that get in the way of complaining about the British government while mocking the continentals.

I shall have my final word on this, I shall !!

The asnwer to Yer question cutter is this : "Ye can find Poland only within Your heart .... and when it beats - the Poland lives" Now.... pike off berks ! :D Yeah Your head would look good on a head of a pike hahaha xD

I wyszedłeś, jasny synku, z czarną bronią w noc,
i poczułeś, jak się jeży w dźwięku minut - zło.
Zanim padłeś, jeszcze ziemię przeżegnałeś ręką.
Czy to była kula, synku, czy to serce pękło?

About Anti-Polish sentiment in the so called Western World:

Translation of relevant fragment:

"(...) I came entirely ready to "capture" this London. But here in London I found out, that I have a problem with my nationality, with where I come from. Poles are disliked and my question to you is: why are Polish people disliked? After all, we were not invading anyone like Germans, we were not stealing, raping and plundering villages like Russians, we were not colonizing other continents like Great Britain. And we are probably not as much conceited as the French. (...) I say hello to people, they are greeting me very hospitably, we talk, we laugh. And suddenly they ask: "So where do you come from?". And then I say: "from Poland". And suddenly the discussion is ending. I remember how two years ago I was in the island of Rhodes on vacations. And 3 times during 7 days of my vacations I was asked there, "do you work here", after I told them that I'm from Poland. "Super, super, super, so where do you come from?" - "I come from Poland" and then "Oh, so do you work here?". No, I don't work here, why I would I work here, I'm on vacations just like you. "Ah... Oh... OK, Uhm...". Once my friends from the USA visited me in Warsaw. Four lawyers from Minnesota. We were sitting, talking... first round, second round... , as we know, Americans are politically correct, they never tell you the truth or at least never tell the truth straight into your eyes. And suddenly, I ask "Hey, Richard, tell me what you these Americans really think about the Poles, do they even know anything about this country or nothing, are we some non-existant entity for you"? And Richard, already pickled and emboldened, thinking that he had a US fella next to him, said to me the following: "You know, Poles are considered as being, you know, slow". I say "Whatta?! Slow?!" - I just smacked him in his face and booted him out of my house, haha. How "slow"?! Anything can be said about us, but surely not that we are "slow". And today in England I was again treated in the same way - everybody talks with me as with equal person, everyone, but only until they get to know where I come from. (...)"

Where does this American stereotype about Polish people being "slow" come from?

The only kind of real-life interaction with Polish people the Americans enjoy on a daily basis, is that with Polish-Americans. And Polish-Americans are not "slow" - quite the contrary, they are on average "faster" than most of other Americans - which is demonstrated by data posted below:

US statistical data from years 2009 - 2011:

Number of self-declared European-Americans (ancestry / heritage groups according to 2010 census):

German-Americans - 49 million
Irish-Americans - 35 million
English-Americans - 26 million
Scottish-Americans - 6 million
Italian-Americans - 17 million
Polish-Americans - 10 million
French-Americans - 9 million
Jewish-Americans - 6 million
Dutch-Americans - 5 million
Etc., etc. (but these above are the largest of European-American groups - apart from these groups, there is also a large group of white US citizens declaring simply "American" ancestry, because they don't know or don't remember where their distant ancestors came from).

Average annual income per person (including children and unemployed when dividing the income):

Jewish-Americans - 50,000 USD
Anglo-Scottish Americans - 36,000 USD
Polish-Americans - 34,000 USD
German-Americans - 32,000 USD
European-Americans (average) - 31,000 USD
All Americans (average) - 27,000 USD

Percent of people with higher education among Americans (among people 25+ years old):

Jewish-Americans - 59%
Anglo-Scottish Americans - 38%
Polish-Americans - 37%
German-Americans - 33%
European-Americans (average) - 30%
All Americans (average) - 28%

Percent of population working in professions classified as the most influential ones:

Jewish-Americans - 50%
Anglo-Scottish Americans - 46%
Polish-Americans - 43%
German-Americans - 41%
European-Americans (average) - 38%
All Americans (average) - 36%

Also some of IQ tests carried out in Europe, show that Poland is among the top 3 European countries when it comes to average IQ level of citizens:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-381057/European-IQ-map-proves-Brits-brainy.html

http://www.pgf.cc/2006/03/28/poles-have-2nd-highest-iq-in-europe/

I don't think such IQ tests are reliable sources of information, though.

But anyway Poles are definitely not stupid compared to other Europeans, contrary to what racist "Polack jokes" seem to indicate.

And in case of so called "shopping IQ" of customers, Poland and its citizens are 1st in Europe according to research carried out by Visa UK:

http://prnews.pl/wiadomosci/visa-uk...ie-w-tescie-na-8222zakupowe-iq8221-14806.html

http://biznes.gazetaprawna.pl/artyk...ument_ma_najwyzsze_w_europie_zakupowe_iq.html

So what exactly is the source of stereotypes about "Polacks" and of "Polish jokes" ???

It's impressive how smoothly Domen can transition from "Poles are unfairly discriminated against" to "Poles are the master-race".
