I eventually broadened my horizons with the very unfamiliar society and people of the UK. :p (There was once a day that I would turn off anything with a British accent as I didn't want to bother trying to decipher dialects.
 You snob ;)
As a side note, watch Derry Girls and Bodyguard.)
Yeah, agree: Derry Girls is wonderful.

Luther
(with Idris Elba) is also supposed to be pretty damn good (I have it queued, but haven't started watching it yet).

Derry Girls is great, but really that's not an easy accent to parse, even for a native Englishman.

Besides, if you're saying mint in the way I think you are, that T should be a glottal stop. ;)

I didn't expect to wander into here to see people watching The Legend of Aang.
Did you seriously have that bad an opinion about our taste?

Portlandia is seriously hit or miss. I can watch whole episodes and not laugh once and then they do a skit like this and I completely lose my ****

Lairn sum Oirish, boy. :p

Please, Lemon. Arakhor's from the country that's home to Ozzy Osbourne.

No, it's not. He's from Birmingham.

But Birmingham is almost a separate country by itself.

The key word being ‘almost’.

Here's a old TV mini series, Stephen King's 'The Stand'

It's about a plague that's killing off 90% of the worlds population. In the states the survivors start forming two groups.

It's a 90's adaption from King's 70's novel.

Just shy of 6 hours.

We finished Mars S2 last week, so last night we watched the first episode of Luther S1. If that was typical of the rest (there are 4 seasons on Netflix.de), then it is good.

I thought Luther was pretty solid, all the way through. There's one season that was shorter than the others. I think they had problems scheduling everybody, but decided that something was better than nothing. At the time, it was frustrating, but if you have the entire series ahead of you, the short season probably won't be a big deal.

The trailer for season 5 of The Magicians has a GINORMOUS season-4 spoiler right at the beginning. That aside,

it is british tv drama, it almost always is trash.
Yeah, sure, the Beeb's output is 100% crap, 100% of the time

That's presumably why it doesn't get exported (and translated) by TV stations across pretty much the whole world — unlike wonderful greek TV drama. Oh, wait...

Here's a thought: maybe try actually experiencing something, before dismissing it out of hand?
