I will try to write something, Spry, but don't expect Homer quality story telling.

I joined ton of NESes recently (last 3-4 months) and so many died or never went.
I want them to GO GO GO!....

Well, mine's been off to a good start...

yeah.. didn't join that one though... :(

NESing has had a DIRE 2010.. here's hoping 2011 is better!

Non-stat, story-based NES are not my bag :(

No, I am here to GAME, not to read a story. If I wanted that, I would go to bed and pick up a BOOK.

I do understand them. I simply don't enjoy the process. It is competition, the "game" that is NESing which drives my enjoyment.

A NES isn't a competition. It is a collective story where there are no winners or losers. Only the fun of getting from point A to B.

I always assign my nation a set of goals. It is fun to try to achieve them.

Two spots are still open...better late than never!

I tend to walk the line between story and game in NESing. I'm competitive...I like to try to win and be the big dog. I also prefer NESes with a strong stats system. LotG: Circuitria is extremely stats driven and my own control over the outcome of the NES is rather limited. But I also joined NESing because of the story part. I love stories. I love world building, and especially kinda "zooming in" on the world and living in it in my mind, through the stories. A lot of the stuff in my NES was dice driven. In fact, the world was generated largely through dice. But the story that made the bridge between the outcome of the dice and what I wanted was actually pretty good...maybe even better than if I had abandoned dice all together. Making sense of the nonsensical actually produces some real gems.

Your NES looks like it could really shape to be interesting. I just hope to can cope with the inevitable build up of lots and lots of different units running around!

**Quickly rewrites the Spanish update to include the capture of Barcelona by the Aztecs....** ;)

Quickly being the important word here ;) :whipped:

I am afraid I don't understand that.
