While We Wait: Boredom Strikes Back

A spaceship usually isn't designed to drill its way through a planetary core...

Lol I enjoy how you logically questioned my already very questionable idea :p

I alter the map each time I write something. While updating, I keep open a word document holding every update I've ever written (with my notes and annotations at the bottom), a GIMP image showing my full current map, a GIMP image showing the maps for every update I have written thus far, and a page of my NES whose stories I'm summarizing and referring to.

So, you do this to keep up with player location as they move during a turn? I still don't see that much advantage, but I suppose that Galaxy is more focused on characters than organizations so maybe it does make some sense to map out what they do as they do it, but it still seems weird and unnecessary to me. just, sub-optimal efficiency.

I was worried that I wasn't spending near as much time as y'all on my updates but I've seen Birdjag's updates and they are massive, they clearly take a great deal of time.

And my map, well, if I made a pie chart of how I spend my time on an update, the map would be a very thin slice. This is apparent with all of my mapping so far. The first post in that thread is a criticism of my geography.

Well, in GalaxyNES the map is also a stat sheet of sorts, as it also indicates player statistics. I like updating it as a right, to give me a visual guide of what the situation looks like at a given time. It is less efficient than just updating at the end, but it lets me visualize what is going on much more easily. I did this for LINESII as well.

I usually updated the map alongside the rest of the update, if only because it was easier to keep everything in my head that way.

Hey guys! Long time no see. My last computer somehow bricked itself so my last abortive NES is, uh, aborted. I spent much of the summer working in a deli and moonlighting as a 7-11 clerk to get the money to buy the computer and I can say I have never had a more hellish 2-or-3 (maybe 4, it all blended together) months in my life. But it's paid off! So, yeah, I'm back.

What is it about this forum that specifically 'causes otherwise nice people to downgrade into complete jerks?

And why is there an apostrophe with that "cause"? Cause is a proper word.

I think that is the effect of the internet in general.

i blame thlayli

Because some like to believe "winning" is an exhibition of our intelligence. Being a jerk is an exercise in e-penor measuring.
