Who is this Glenn Beck guy and does anyone take him seriously?!

The more I see of this guy the more unhinged he seems. Heres a great video comparing British and American news presenters where at the end he focuses on Beck.

Brilliant!

This was great. Best 10 minutes I've ever wasted on YouTube ;)

Wow, the first two minutes which I watched of it seem like to give you a bad parody of a real anchorman, presenting real news and facts!
Are there really any Americans who fall for that ****? Oh wait, don't answer me, it was a rhetorical question.

I watch him only to get angry.

drinking vast amounts of beer accomplishes the same thing. more expensive but also more fun...

you could drink Beck's I guess.

*crickets chirping*

*tumbleweed rolls by*

I'll be over there in yonder corner....

I'm pretty sure if we got rid of Glenn Beck, Keith Olberman, Rush Limbaugh and Lou Dobbs that 20% of the population would actually be disappointed, 20% would be sad since they'd have less material to make fun of and 60% could care less. I fall into the middle category on all four.

I rather like Beck. Sure, he is often over the top and I could destroy half of his arguments with ease, but he makes some good points and is amusing.

I cannot, however, take Hannity seriously. I used to find him an amusing self-parody, but it has gotten old and really isn't funny anymore.

And Rachel Maddow would be unemployed.

Anyway, I sometimes watched Glenn Beck on CNN (alongside Lou Dobbs) just for a laugh (true, sometimes he does have some good points, but treats the show a bit like a circus now). I had a personal wager on which one of the two (Beck or Dobbs, and I was figuring Beck) would wind up calling for a revolt one of these days (Lou Dobbs often sounds like he's close to doing that). I spotted Glen Beck saying that once on the O'Reilly Factor (although being semi-sarcastic, and Bill joked, "Hey, I'll join your militia!") while channel surfing. Glenn Beck is kind of more annoying now if anything.

Satire only works when you understand what you're satirising. This man does not.

Glad to see people appreciating Charlie Brooker. You guys should watch his other programmes, although much of the UK stuff might go over your head. His guardian articles are also worth a look.

A good point.

The greatest difference between the Jon Stewart and Glenn Beck is that one is unabasedly calls himself a fake newsman and a satirical figure. The other doesn't. Jon Stewart also criticizes Democratic newsmakers as well...he's more "fair and balanced" than Fox.

Want to have some fun? Watch Glenn Beck's crazy War Room: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5zL5pGfNOc (I think there are 4 parts and this is the first one.)

Then watch Colbert's mockery: http://www.colbertnation.com/the-co...04-2009/doom-bunker---glenn-beck-s--war-room- and http://www.colbertnation.com/the-co...9/doom-bunker---jack-jacobs-and-stephen-moore.

I like Glenn Beck. He's a bit theatrical but he says pretty much what I'm thinking.
