Why Everybody Hate Obama?

The right hate him because he is a democrat, simple as that. Independents/moderates, if they hate him, likely feel duped by his message of hope and change

I don't hate Obama, but I certainly would never vote for him. I am disgusted with both parties and will not vote for either. No clue who I'll vote for at this point.

Obama is just as corrupt as his predecessors, if not more so.

It's a broken system that produces broken candidates, but I like to think he's just defeated by it and not compromised entirely.

Unfortunately it was affected by Carter-itis, which meant absolutely nothing went right.
As former military, it pains me to say... it was not Carter's fault...
The military assured them they could do it, it could have worked... but contingency planning prevailed and they at least pulled out before it became an absolute debacle...

I love when racism is brought into play!

Obama is whiter than I am, for crying out loud. The percentage of people who actually judge, in America, based solely on skin color, rather than culture... pretty small... and they probably don't do a lot of voting anyhow, too busy being skinheads and all that entails.

Except that's not true at all. It seems like I am constantly hearing about those weird indians (India) taking all our jobs or all the hispanic folks. Or the muslims. Of course I live in Kentucky. Really it disgust me how casual all the racist conversations I hear around here are. It kind of hurts when my mom says racist things about mexicans or indians, I know she is better than that sort of stupidity.

Sorry to get on a rant. Racism isn't really the big issue at all with Obama anyway as far as his lack of... being liked goes. He probably gets more racist hate for his secret muslim faith than his skin colour anyway.

I realize he's fighting the corrupt nature of politics in a world dominated by the media and money, but there are some issues for which he must be held accountable -- like signing into effect the indefinite detention bill a few weeks ago. I started supporting him in 2005, but I didn't vote for him back in 2008 given his support of the "Patriot" act and other bills.

The Democratic party has consistently failed to live up to the progressive ideals it pretends to cherish; the only REAL reason most people vote Democrat, I'd wager, is because the Republicans are so much worse. As long as that remains true, I bet the Democrats will be continue to become more reviled and impotent, yet secure in power because at the present there's no viable third party. I think this year I'll vote Green.

The Democratic party hasn't been a progressive party in 20 years. But no one listens to me when I say that. The Dems as a whole today are less progressive than their middle right forebearers of the 1970s. And they are moving further right all the time.

The reason that the Dems lost the working class white male vote is because they ceased to do anything for labor. Labor sticks with them because the alternative is worse, not because the Dems work to benefit labor. And I can foresee that happening with blacks real soon now as well.

The group that hurts the progressive cause in the US the most is the Democratic party.

Yes, there are areas that are still suffering from racist thought patterns... but, you being a youth there are the type of person who changes that thought pattern. It's good to confront it when you see it, even in your own parents.

They listen, they just disagree.
They are certainly more progressive than the Repubs... I guess it is like calling the Muslim Brotherhood moderate, in a way.

They aren't as left as you'd like them to be...

"More progressive" than the current GOP is still less progressive than the GOP of 1970. So it is still a movement away from the progressive agenda, not towards it.

Obama could not turn **** into Shish Kabobs. Still, he'll get reelected because people might not like Obama anymore but they still hate the other guys who give you **** and tell you its Shish Kabobs.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!

I completely agree with everything here. I was born in 1972, so I don't have first-hand knowledge of what politics was like in the 1970's, and I barely payed attention in the 1980's (at least until 1986, when it seems like just about everything that happened in the 80's happened in a single year)

I also grew up in Connecticut, which until recently happily elected conservative democrats and liberal republicans - centrists by any other name. But now..., well, everyone - and I mean everyone (even Bernie Sanders) has moved to the right.

I assume this has to do with the influence of corporate money in politics, but I could be very wrong.

As for why I hate Obama (but will vote for him nonetheless) it has entirely to do with his relentless war against whistleblowers, his codification of the erosion of civil liberties that started under Bush 43, and his complete acquiescence to High Finance.

Case in point: his recent appointment of New York's AG Eric Schneiderman to head the Mortgage Fraud Investigation Unit. Eric Schniederman was one of the most important holdouts in the multi-state settlement against the mortgage servicers (robo-signing fraud and such). I may be wrong but I can't help but see this as a way for Obama to keep one of the Big Bank's mortal enemies close to him. I'm hoping to be proved wrong.
