Worst Movies Ever

Heh, that's funny, I need to see that movie. It sounds like one of those awful movies that is still fun to watch. I do imagine it would get old quick though if the whole movie is just Mae West playing the proto-cougar. And 84 is beyond cougar even. Mae West is hilarious. She had a similar part in Myra Breckenridge but fortunately she wasn't the subject of the whole movie so there was just enough of her that it didn't get old. Apparently she was a total witch to work with and Raquel Welch couldn't stand her.

All Seltzer and Friedman flicks. I only have to see their advertisements (German TV stations are fond of broadcasting them often, in the best time slots, for unknown reasons - I suppose cruelty), to get the urge to shove a definition of "parody" into their mouths.

They are not even "so bad it's good" bad like Plan 9 or Manos. They're just plain bad.

Of these movies, list taken from Wikipedia, which ones would you say are the absolute worst and are there any that don't deserve to be on the list or any you would add. I'm talking about movies that stand out as the absolute worst of all time, not just something you thought was pretty bad.

I have to confess the only ones I've seen on this list are Myra Breckenridge, Howard the Duck (a veeeery long time ago) parts of Showgirls on TV and Battlefield Earth. I thought Myra Breckenridge was kind of entertaining but yeah it is a pretty bad movie quality-wise. I've heard that Plan 9 is so awful that it's actually a lot of fun to watch but I haven't seen it yet.

I think I would add Caligula to the list, it's also kind of interesting to watch in parts but really bad. Someone tried to put a porn movie together with a Roman epic and it just didn't work.

Alone in the Dark (2005)
Disaster Movie (2008)
Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2008)

Here is the problem. Some of these are indeed so bad they are good in a funny way.

Of these i've seen:

Plan 9 from Outer Space.
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.
Howard the Duck.
Highlander II.
Battlefield Earth.

Of these, the only one I didnt derive some guilty pleasure out of was Highlander II. They took the great story premise of Highlander and totally destroyed it, and then made it worse in filming that disaster. Ugh. The others are actually kinda fun to watch, especially if your drunk, and have kind of an ad hoc Mystery Science Theater 3000 party. Fun stuff.

I think Plan 9 is considered to be the worst film ever by most film critics. I would have to agree, even though I haven't seen the vast majority of the flicks on the OP list.

The list is also missing other flicks I have sadly seen, most them high-budget so they don't really have any excuse to be terrible: Bedtime For Bonzo, Hudson Hawk, The Postman, Waterworld, Zardoz, Heaven's Gate, Driven, and ... Batman and Robin.

It was pretty cool seeing Sean Connery in a red loincloth with a long braid but yeah that movie was so corny and incomprehensible. Try watching it dubbed in Russian some time like I did (caught it on TV in Tbilisi) and it's even stranger.

Wasn't Waterworld the most expensive movie ever made at one point?

I haven't seen Plan 9 but I plan to, it does sound wonderfully bad.

Anyone seen The Cars That Ate Paris ? Just painful . One of the first Ozploitation flicks

Peter Weir's debut set in a small town in outback Australia . The premise is that the whole town right up to the mayor is in on a plot whereby they manufacture fatal car crashes involving travellers and the towns economy is essentially propped up by the spare parts industry created by the newfound wrecked vehicles

I've only seen Highlander II. It gave "There can be only one" a whole new meaning.

I have to admit, some of the jokes in the movie might have actually been funny if the delivery of them was better. Mae West being 84 wasn't even the only bad part. Pretty much everyone gave a terrible performance, though I suppose it was probably difficult for Dalton and the others to pretend they wanted they had any desire to get in the pants of an overweight octogenarian. I remember there was this one awful scene where West visits a gym and is making all these sexual puns to all these oiled up muscle men involving their "equipment" and "working out". It was gag worthy.

That was indeed atrocious. And it could have easily been reasonably decent given the theme and the actors.

This thread definitely needs some Torgo in it. The sad fact is the actor killed himself shortly after the movie was made. This guy was high on drugs during filming, and it shows.

This is the Torgo dance I found on youtube once, it cracks me up every time I see it.

Mystery Science Theater did a fantastic job when they watched this movie.

Land of the Lost.

Suckerpunch.

And who could forget Rocky Horror Picture Show? Easily the worst thing I've ever seen.

I think Rocky Horror Picture Show was brilliant. It is on par with any other cult classic, like Repo Man.
