Trust me, there are some threads that should never see the light of day again...

Where is "Make Dommy the next Thunderfall"?

Who is "Dommy"? There used to be somebody by that name who hung around here, but I haven't seen him for a long time now... I must be the only one who ever consistently called him by his full, formal username.


Let's see... what would I do if I owned this place?

New skins.

Review the smileys, drop a few, add LOTS more. And they would all have seasonally-appropriate funny hats.

I'd enable the blog feature on the site.

I'd allow more personal threads as long as they support a general discussion that is intended to be ultimately friendly, courteous, and helpful.

Praising or congratulating somebody for an achievement would be possible on occasions other than their birthdays.

Make sure the servers work properly, naturally, and for the occasions when they don't, I'd compose a better message that basically tells people, "We're too busy to listen to you. Get lost."

Staff would be REQUIRED to poke their noses out of the moderators'/admins' forums and participate in threads, games, and other community activities so they don't lose touch with the "commoners."

Step 1: Ban people I don't like
Step 2: Unban certain people who have been permbanned.
Step 3: Bring back post count for all threads, regardless of whether they're a forum game or a serial thread.
Step 4: Make sure the people I don't like are still banned.
Step 5: Rejig the rules to be more fun and encourage more activity.
Step 6: Appoint people who know what they're doing to fix the servers.
Step 7: Handpick some new moderators, remove many of the current moderators.
Step 8: Have I mentioned banning people I don't like yet? Coz that.

I am mostly content the way this forum is run. I'd like to do two things:

1. Get rid of a few wordfilters for some of the milder profanities. Not serious stuff such as racial/ethnic/religious/sexual observation slurs or outright pornographic terms. Just fairly common somewhat dirty words that are not necessarily hostile in nature.

2. Teach the moderator/admin staff the difference between "trolling" and "flaming" and instruct them to use the right word when justifying a warning/ban (the majority of people warned/banned for "trolling" here are actually guilty of flaming.

Ha, let me know how you do that! I have no idea how it worked here....if I could set up cults of personality at will, I feel like I'd make more money at work.
