Can you all tell the difference between "who will" and "who do you hope will"?

If Romney wins Iowa he is the nominee. If Paul or Santorum wins Iowa, who the hell knows. A divide in victories between Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina could give any candidate with a firstst or second place showing in either state an excuse to stay in. And as unlikely as the idea might seem don't be surprised if it goes to convention. Although that scenario is probably only likely with strong Paul showings in contests after New Hampshire.

Honestly I feel it's entirely possible that you could have Paul winning Iowa, Huntsman winning New Hampshire, Santorum or Perry winning South Carolina. And Romney coming in second in all three.

Mitt's will get it for sure. I'd be interested to see if Ron could run as a third party candidate.

He and Santorum are merely the next Not-Romney's.

This will come down to Romney vs. Paul.

I'm pulling for Paul, he would fundamentally change the republican party for generations.

4 years ago I didn't believe that Obama could change the political landscape and I see no reason to believe that anyone could do it now.

Nononono Adjiicia it's Herman Van Rompuy whose leader of the free world
:rotfl:
 Good one.

I think GoodSarmatian meant that no head of state can seriously claim that title.

He's just a white Obama.
That's because Obama is just another Republican that happens to be sane, and is member of the Democratic Party for some reason.

Have Ron Paul fans ever shown the ability to tell the difference between reality and their dream world?

How so? Are American parties even cohesive enough entities that one individual can change them just by getting nominated? It's not as if the nominee has any formal authority within the party, as party leaders do in the Westminster model.

 I am humbled by your wit :hatsoff:
Edit: we really need a Santa version of hatsoff

Cain's out, not Bachmann, not Perry, not Newy, I forgot Santorum had a campaign, I'm not sure who Huntman is, and I disagree with Ron Paul's view on foreign intervention. I guess that leaves Mittons.

Thank you for correctly explaining the reasoning of the undecided vote. :goodjob:

I would love it to be Ron Paul or maybe John Huntsman.

But I'm not a dreamer. I imagine it will probably be Mitt.

I'll probably be Romney. I don't see Santorum being able to translate a good Iowa showing into a front-running campaign, and as others have said Ron Paul's numbers have a glass ceiling. Huntsman probably can't do better than third in New Hampshire, sadly - I much prefer him to Romney.

Bachmann isn't ideal and Newt is awful but, short of not being Ron Paul, I see nothing wrong with a Rick Perry presidency.
To you, maybe, but to the masses? Nah, he's stiffer than a board, and kind of..... wacky. Definitely not Presidential material. Romney, on the other hand, is professional, stable, and not as stiff as a board. :p
