2020 US Election (Part One)

Pete is doing well on “his turf.” Hell, Jay Inslee could have won Washington State’s delegates. Good thing he dropped out, he was splitting votes from Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren (indirectly helping old Joe Biden).

Warren’s current position is “Sanders lite” and she has more backing by the DNC than Sanders.

Moderates have been proven to be a shrinking demographic as The D’ump has radicalized his base.

Sanders is authentic and appeals to the working class. Biden appeals more to moderate, wealthy, white suburbanites.

Moderates are maybe 5% now but Trump won by 80 000 votes. In 3 states.

He has 80% support amount Republicans. He needs around 100%.

You also need to flip some Senate seats. There's no liberal states left Doug Jones will likely Lose Alabama.

Whatever candidate they pick also has to avoid Tea Party 2.0 in 2022 mid terms or you have a lame duck president again a'la Obama 2.0.

I suspect any of the Dem candidates can win but to get the change liberals want you need a candidate who can achieve the above.

Even if an Uber liberal wins you need the moderate Democrats to sign off on anything so there's that as well.

It's been the moderate Dems winning in 2018/19 not the Uber liberals.

If you stay at home if they nominate a moderate and Trump wins have fun with that.
If they nominate a Uber liberal and lose or an Uber liberal who ends up as a lame duck well told ya so.

Dumping Trump should be easy, if you want anything done though....

There are four "tossup" states in play based on polling. All four are currently held by Republicans. They do not include Ernst in Iowa, who also seems like a very vulnerable Republican. In Kansas the incumbent retired, and Kansas has been sending a lot of iffy signals about whether the GOP can count on their continued blind follower status so that could be a vulnerability if the GOP puts up the wrong candidate. Heck, Democrats recently won state wide races in Kentucky and Louisiana...are any red states really safe at this point?

Yeah it's looking good for them. Texas is also trending towards purple.

Hell Trump is the best Democratic asset they have. Realistically until you can flip Florida/Ohio/Texas you're limited to what you can do. It takes to long to pass a law before mid terms roll round.

Healthcare should probably be the main focus, it's broadly popular with everyone who not a neo liberal idealogue.

D'ump's willingness to just bald faced lie is incredible. Today, after however many people have testified about Guiliani's mission to Ukraine and D'ump's own repeated references to said mission, all of a sudden "oh. no, I didn't send him to Ukraine" comes flying out of left field. No less a true believer than Bill O'Reilly even had to pause and as for a repeat, which D'ump cheerfully gave as if there was no reason for O'Reilly to wonder if he had heard that correctly. If this balloon head ever has to say anything under oath he's through.

Haven't you already said that as a former guest of the criminal justice system you were offended that Donald Trump has not been caught earlier and that the only possible explanation for somebody this clumsy getting away with it was that the authorities must have deliberately been bothering to look the other way at every single stage of the process in his various dealings?

Yeah, that would be me. The guy is an offense to hard working criminals everywhere.

The man is an offence to hard-working anythings, really. When I am effectively taxed out of business while the ‘leader of the free world’ boasts about not having to work for a living and not having to pay taxes either because he's smart he's both calling me an idiot and flaunting his wealth. That really is rich of him.

Bad pun used with authorisation from Arakhor puns, Est. a company with puns for the whole family. All lefts reserved.

But But, he donated his quarterly salary to fight opioide abuse. How could he be an evil man?

Speaking of the opioid abuse battleground, did anyone else see that Melania got thoroughly booed at some rally against opioid abuse she was speaking at? For all the concerns about "impeachment backfire," or whatever else, I think that was a pretty interesting indicator that his unpopularity has grown to a new point where it is starting to slop over onto her.

She was in Baltimore. They're not exactly Trump fans there, especially after all the insults.

True, but she has done plenty of appearances where the crowd wasn't exactly Trump fans but she's been given a pass. It did seem to slop over this time in an unusual way, but perhaps it is just the Baltimore thing.

Of all the family, Melania seems to be the less reptilian one, tbh. Likely because she has no Trump dna.
Barron Harkonnen Trump jr is scary.

Yeah, sometimes I almost feel sorry for her. I'm sure she had no desire to be the first lady, just wanted a green card.

Buttigieg lost any support I might have given after he smeared Gabbard for meeting with Assad, just seems like a dishonorable act. I dont know why I should be all that surprised but I expect better from people who served in war, especially volunteers.

he likes the criminals who dont get caught

Lexicus won't like this, but

video has been up for less than a day and already has over 1 million views :)

I haven't watched it yet, sadly she's kinda boring with the repetitive 'regime change wars' rhetoric

Gabbard is much better on Rogan than in debates, she's robotic on stage but sounds loose and more uninhibited in a lengthy podcast. She even dropped an f bomb.

Rogan threw her softballs

Bernie is the democratic candidate least likely to get a single vote from the right, and most likely to lose votes even to Trump in the center. You mistake the fanaticism of those who do support him for an indication about those who don't.
Strong disagree on that.

He was a hit on Joe Rogan's podcast which has voters from all corners of the spectrum.

Also Trump hasn't managed to come up w a good nickname for him.

There are “never Trumpers” that will either vote Libertarian or not vote at all, but any of them actually voting Democrat is highly unlikely.
