There were many factors in the rise of European fascism in the same way there were many factors in the start of the Civil War.
True, but everybody with an ounce of intellectual honesty knows what The Big Factor was.

At least the "The Big Factor," that was played upon through "stab in the back," myths and horrible stereotypes in Germany. Italy, Spain, and Portugal, not really perceptibly, Romania and Hungary only partially as much, Slovakia the Romani and Antiziganist sentiment in general was a far bigger issue, Austro-Fascism (as opposed to concurrent Nazism in Austria), similar to Romania and Hungary, Japan, Thailand, Manchuria, and El Salvador, not even remotely so...

Ask the GOP propaganda arms...the Democrats are fear mongering the virus to destroy the economy so they can blame Trump. His faithful will not be blinking, bank on it.

A fellow I'm Facebook-friends with reposted a graphic stating: "The economy could tank, the market could crash, coronavirus could turn into the worst pandemic known to man... AND I WILL STILL VOTE TRUMP IN NOVEMBER!"

There's certainly Republicans that are in between Trumpets and NeverTrumpers, but really there's a disconcerting percentage of voters for whom that "he could shoot someone on Fifth Ave and they'd still vote for him" is literally true.

What if Trump, Pence, McConnell, etc. die of the virus by November? What will this knucklehead do then?

It's disconcerting that there are any.

Die too, very likely.

Pretend they never voted for any of them, as most GOPers right now will do within a few years regardless. No one voted for Nixon even though he was reelected in a landslide.

In any group of people there are a few idiots, jackasses, extremists, sociopaths, etc etc. Unfortunately they tend to be telegenic and loud so can become the face of the group, where perception of the group by others is concerned. The trollish Bernie Bros? Right. Every politician, every party, every ideology has some supporters that they secretly cringe about.

That's kinda believable at this point. Even I am not old enough to have voted for Nixon.

All the Hitler voters died in the war.

In 1945 they couldn't find any.

Fundamentalist/Dominionist/Prosperity Gospel/Theonyst/Theocratic/Eschatonic Cult Christians and Hard/Fundamentalist Islamists giving the whole of the two world's biggest religions really bad reps to a large viewpoint is another good example of that.

Your "sincerely held opinions" vary from forum to forum, depending on what is most likely to cause disruption. So I've observed, and so I've been told, and now so you have said. Quit weaseling and be proud!

Thats a serious accusation, do you have evidence my opinions change from forum to forum? How could you make that observation when this is the only forum we share? The sacred cows vary, not my opinions. I didn't come here and criticize Obama for bowing to dictators or pulling troops from Iraq while defending him at Poly. Nor did I defend Democrats who voted for the Iraq War at Poly only to criticize them here, that would be hypocritical.

And for the most part I just respond to people who are trash talking others. I dont generally criticize Democrats until their supporters lecture the rest of us about morality and how we owe them our support or we're siding with evildoers. You guys call Republicans all sorts of vile names, some of you even advocate killing them and you're protecting the forum from trolls?

Ohio has recorded 78,000 applications for unemployment from Sunday to Tuesday of this week. Last week there was only 6,500 applications for the whole week.

Trump's presidency is dead.

They shouldn't be handing out checks for a thousand dollars, they should be forcing employers to continue paying everyone for the next month with federal loans as needed. Buy time to sort out the mess but also ensure the monied class doesn't get to cut their losses and walk away as they usually do. And corporate bailouts need to come with serious conditions attached.

Ohio has 5,883,960 employed people.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Ohio

78,000 applications means 1.325% of Ohio's workforce instantly lost their job.
That should jack up their unemployment rate from 4.3% to 5.6% right away.

Corporate bailouts need some conditions ya.
Specifically, Boeing should get a bailout if their stock drops below $10 per share!
At that point, clearly they can't raise any more money selling stock or pieces of themselves, so they deserve a bailout.

I used to complain about having slander, baseless personal attacks, personal information falsely conjured before my eyes and used as the source of more baseless attack, my personal beliefs and ideologies falsely dictated to me right in front of me, and otherwise lies about me in front of my eyes being far too commonplace (and tolerated). But, I've come to see it's not just me, by far, who suffers ridiculous abuse and haranging, all the time here. It's quite the jungle, isn't it. And, for some reason, posters are MORE likely to get their fingers slapped, or any real consequences, for having enough of the crap and reacting quite sharply to it, then for being one those instigating it... :undecide:

"Truth in advertising." How naïve.
 You are over thinking things. That was only my mea culpa for being guilty of my accusations of others. Nothing more.

Two congressmen have tested positive for the virus.

I face this choice most elections, as an ornery libertarian. "You're throwing your vote away!" and "You're helping the other guy win!" are the two things I usually hear. In 2016 I didn't vote for either Trump or Clinton, they were both such miserable options to me. This election is I think the first time I've ever truly felt like one candidate was so bad that I'd vote against them with the other candidate, no matter what. And I'd vote for Biden even if I lived in Massachusetts or Wyoming, because I'm not just concerned about who wins, but by how much because a narrow victory might enable Trump to stir the pot. So yeah, for once I am on the other side of that fence, voting for the lesser of two evils.

How do you get to the lesser of two evils with Biden? If you're an ornery libertarian then you must know the roles he played in the drug war and invasion of Iraq (just to name a couple). What has Trump done to deserve labeling him the greater evil?

Policies and issues isn't really why I'm so vehemently anti-Trump. It's how he's attacking democracy itself. Starting prior to the actual 2016 election where he mused that he might not accept the results of the election if Hillary won, to the big voter fraud claims, to wanting his very own parade, to the blatant demand for kowtowing from his subordinates, to the churn of his administration until he gets his yes-men, to his regarding Twitter as official dispensation of policy/orders, to his attacks on the media in so many ways, to his favoring the word of Putin over his own intelligence agencies, to how the State and Justice department rank-and-file have been attacked as "Deep State", to his executive decisions like that of pulling out of Syria that go against the advice of every single person on his staff, to his claiming of credit for anything that goes right and denial of responsibility for anything that goes wrong, to his blatant lying over and over and over again, to... shall I go on? None of those are economic or social policy positions.

Would you rather he call Putin a liar while standing next to him? And the intelligence agencies were a few people from the CIA, NSA and FBI probably handpicked by John Brennan, James Clapper, Jim Comey, and Andy McCabe. Dont you think he should be wary of holdovers from the Obama administration after all the lies we were told about RussiaGate?

How do you feel about the Obama administration lying to a Fisa court to spy on Trump? Kinda explains his reluctance to trust the bureaucratic leadership he inherited. Should we still be in Syria arming terrorists to overthrow Assad? We would be if Hillary had won... and we might if Biden wins. Peace wont return to Syria if the deep state has its way.

Same. I think Trump is toast with his coronavirus response the final nail in the coffin

Maybe, but he banned travel from China and Dems complained. How do you think people will react to that? We know how Biden reacted, he called it hysterical xenophobia. So we should have just let people fly in from China like Italy did?

Far as I know... I sure dont remember you from Poly but you could have gone under a different name. Most of my 'recent' debates there are from years ago with the 2-3 resident Republicans who acted toward Obama in much the same way Democrats respond to Trump. Do you have evidence of me changing my opinions from forum to forum?

PDMA is never acceptable.

Welcome to the echo chamber where advocating mass murder produces good vibrations and dissent is contrarian trolling.

Blah

Blah blah blah (jesus man move on, we have)

I do not recall much argument about banning travel from china temporarily or any following temporary bans other then they were too late to have the desired effect.

You mean besides you saying so? I mean, I understand that no one considers you a reliable source...

By applications that means newly unemployed?
