2nd Run NFL Mock Draft Thread

Whitner's stock has really jumped since the combine. I've been seeing him sneak into more and more people's mock drafts. Though I have to admit, I'm somewhat surprised to see him go this high here.

Well, for me it was Ko Simpson vs Donte Whitner. I like Whitner's "upside" more.

Reciever in this draft is very thin, the only real first round prospect is Holmes....the rest I truly think are reaches by teams needing recievers.

I have to agree on the recievers; I know after the combine many have Chad Jackson going in the late first, but I can't see him being anything more than a below average 2 reciever or good 3 guy. After that, there is maybe one or two sleepers that will emerge from the recievers taken in the 3rd or beyond. But who they are only time will tell

I was thinking about Jackson with the 26th pick to the Bears, but agree he might not be worth a late 1st rounder.

You are kidding about Jackson right?? They need a Tight End in the worst way. If Lewis is on the board, you gotta go with him, or at least look at Pope. IF you must, wait till the second to look reciever, you've already got a 1 guy

Should we change things now that the Abraham trade has gone through? If we do, the Broncos will take Deangelo Williams at pick 15, so we don't have to change the 4 picks since then. Anderson is gone, Ron Dayne's a dud, Tatum Bell is decent. Williams will be excellent.

I'm going with a TE in the first, but a lot of "experts" are thinking da Bears need to waste the pick on a receiver. No chance.

With the 20th Pick in the Draft,

Here's what we can do: The trade will go through, then each person who has picked after can go back and change their picks if they want with the different players on the board (such as KC getting the option of picking Hill). This is of course assuming its okay with everyone?

Round 1- Pick 21

Bobby Carpenter - Outside Linebacker- Ohio State

Note: NE needs LBs even more than Dallas does. Several good LBs are essential to the 3-4 defense. I like Carp alot, and I think he fits the 3-4 perfectly. That is why I also drafted him for Dallas last time.

Good, though thinking about it, if Lewis isn't there then it might be wise to trade down or take the BPA and look at drafting someone like Byrd or Fasano in the second since Pope is more of a blocking TE.

Looking at the picks, the only one that might change to Hill is the Chiefs. So we can just leave that as cromartie/hill until olorin posts to say which one.

At pick 22, the Broncos take DE Tamba Hali - Penn State. Trevor Pryce's replacement, best player at the Bronco's needs of TE, D-Line & Safety.

Well, I'm tired of waiting so with the next pick the Bucs select:

OT Eric Winston - University of Miami-Fl

O wow, I didn't know that I had the Giants too.

Giants pick:

Chad Greenway - LB - Iowa

Woodelf pmed me his next pick (which should be obvious to everyone):
The Chicago Bears select:

Mercedes Lewis - TE - UCLA

With the 27th pick, the Carolina Panthers select:

Ernie Sims - Outside Linebacker - Florida State University

With the 28th pick, the Jacksonville Jaguars select:

Tye Hill - Cornerback - Clemson University
