Pictured Nations:
The Roman Empire: Having never fallen, the Roman Empire continued to advance and eventually gained colonies in Africa and the Americas. The Romans, however, had lost the British Isles when the Anglo-Saxons, led by Harold, rebelled in managed to repel Rome. In addition, the Romans lost all claims to the Middle East and Egypt, they repelled the Ottomans at Tripoli and Constantinople, however. Currently at war with the German Confederation, the Scandinavian Union and the USSR.
The German Confederation: The German Confederation evolved from the Prussians and the Holy Roman Empire, and later absorbed Austria. The Germans have close ties to the British and Americans. They have taken Poland and Czechslovakia from the USSR and Denmark from Scandinavia, however, they've lost Austria to the Romans.
Britain: The British came about after the War of the Roses, where the Tudor Family defeated the reigning Saxon Family. Britain then conquered the rest of the Isles. The British had colonies in the Americas, but the only remnant of those days are the Falkland Islands. They have close ties to the Germans and Americans.
The Scandinavian Union: Recently formed, the Scandinavians are led by representatives of the Norwegian Royal Family, the Swedish Royal Family, the Icelandic Parliament, the Finnish Parliament, the Danish Royal Family in Exile(currently in Nuuk, Greenland) and the Estonian Government (a recent addition from the USSR). Currently at war with the Romans, Germans(lost Denmark) and the USSR(took Estonia and Murmansk's Peninsula).
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics: The USSR rose out of the ashes of the Russian Empire after the Russian-Roman war in the 18th century. In 1912, the USSR conquered many of the city-states that had arisen and made themselves an official nation on the global spectrum. By 1930, much of the former Russian Empire had been reclaimed. At the height of its power, the Soviet Union owned Russia, Mongolia, the Stans(except Afghanistan and Pakistan), the Balkans, Poland and Czeckoslovakia. However, a combination of bad foreign policy and political corruption caused the Romans, Germans and Scandinavians to be at war, with the results so far posted already.
The Ottoman Empire: In this timeline, WWI never happened, thus the Ottomans never lost much of their empire. The Ottomans were repelled by Roman soldiers at Constantinople and Tripoli, and the Romans and Ottomans have enjoyed an unsteady peace since then.
Iran: The Iranians here control Afghanistan in addition to the country they normally have. Currently at war with India.
