Which tells me that's an Onion article, but doesn't tell me anything about the actual map.

It's a joke, you know, how people are so resistant to filling out those census forms (or at least how the media portrays people to be).

That's at least what I got out of it.

Why are americans afraid of filling out the census form ?

cuz de gummint gon git chu

cuz de gummint gon git chu
Silly americans, the government already knows the things in the form that they are going to write.

It's just like in communism when they only checked if you were being honest.

Here is a map that is attempting to measure Democracy (From 2003 I Believe)
The lighter it is the Democratic it is, The Darker The Less Democratic.

I was sort of wondering and thinking the same thing :P
Europe and The Western Hemisphere (The Americas) Are Basically light, Except Cuba and Belerus of course.

Ha! Iran is more democratic than Singapore!

France looks like the least democratic in Western Europe. :mischief:

WTH with Belarus? They look like fascists in Europe.

Aside from Transnistria, Belarus is probably the closest thing we have to the Soviet Union.

Ha! Iran is more democratic than Singapore!

If it's from 2003, that means Khatami was President. It'll probably scored lower now.

I Noticed that too!

Also I've found some more interesting Democracy Maps;

Heres another map. From Jan. 2008. And it's a lot different from the other map.
According to Wiki;

Democracy Index as published in January 2008. The palest blue countries get a score above 9.5 out of 10 (with Sweden being the most democratic country at 9.88), while the black countries score below 2 (with North Korea being the least democratic at 0.86).

Somalia has a provisional government, which is toppled periodically. It doesn't even control all of Muqdisho, as a general rule.

The Green Are Self Identified Democracies

At least these days the idea of a country ruled, at least nominally, by the people is widely accepted as the "right" form of government, and dictators no longer laugh themselves to death upon hearing of it.

An accurate map of Minnesota:

I don't know much about Minnesota but I do know that Richard Dean Anderssn comes from Minneapolis. There should be a tiny dot with "RDA lives here".

I love MacGyver and General O'Neil :love:

Notice that most of the top are Monarchies? I guess that is a key to good democracy.

Europe and The Western Hemisphere (The Americas) Are Basically light, Except Cuba and Belerus of course.
Don't forget Haiti.

This map supposedly shows how the land/ocean distribution would look like if Earth stopped spinning on its axis (no, I don't mean if it became tidally locked, that's something entirely different).

Earth is not a perfect sphere - the equatorial regions are "bulged". Water stays there because it is forced there by the Earth's rotation. If this force suddenly vanished, water would flow 'downhill' to the regions closer to the poles.

Of course, the reality is that the shape of the Earth's rocky mass is also determined by the speed of its rotation. Eventually, the rock would change its shape too and the water would return to its normal place. If it wasn't all frozen by then.

the air also retreats to the polar areas. which means 99% of the world isnt habitable.
