Yes that would make sense wouldn't it!

The fact that Minneapolis has more Greens than Republicans on it's city council makes it the obvious choice.:D Also, on a per capita basis, the Twin Cities are the best market in the US for booksellers; people here read (a lost art in much of the US). My second choice would be New Orleans. NYC has too many people, smells bad, and is the most arrogant place on Earth. I've never been to San Francisco.

NYC is not anywhere near as arrogant is Anysuburb, USA. I lived in suburbia for a year and it was so bad we moved back to our old, innercity.

San Francisco is great, but I must admit I have an irrational fear of driving up steep hills.

Well, I lived in Upstate NY for 13 years so I developed an irrational loathing for NYC. Not all suburbs are created equally, some of the ones here in the Twin Cities are ok, though many are as you described.

1. Minneapolis
2. New York City
3. Baltimore
4. Chicago
5. Washington, DC

Has anyone ever been to Minneapolis? Best city in the US, in my opinion. I grew up there. It is not underdeveloped. It is not dirty. It is not filled with narrow-minded Republicans who never change their mind (No offence, but I lived in the crappy city of Richmond in Va for a long time, and I am sick of the way they treat politics and elect the president) as a lot of Southern cities do. And finally, it is not so damned hot as some other cities are.

I HATE suburbs. Cheap houses in all the ones I've seen, but they dress them up real fancy ( I'm talking about the ones with community rules and that kind of crap, not the ones where they actually let you own your own house).

Nobody ever goes to Minneapolis. It is too far away from everywhere and not on the way to any other place that people visit. Although it is a fabulous place to live, I suspect it may not be as fun to visit. It is the people that make the place, if you didn't know any of our amusing lunatics and had nobody to hang out with, I could see it being boring.

The old sterotype that New Yorkers are mean awful people is completely false.

Having visited there I was amazed at how friendly they are, unlike any other large city I've ever been to.

The accent makes them sound kind of rough, but they are good friendly caring people there.

And Hygro is right, sububanites are the worst. I grew up in ANysuburb Canada and couldn't wait to get the hell out.

Love the city, people here really are nicer and more neighbourly.

I don't think that they are mean or awful. It is just that they are so convinced that they live in the greatest city in the world, that it makes them kind of provincal. Many New Yorkers can't even find Minneapolis on a map but are still convinced that Midwesterners are all a bunch of hicks. Just a thought from "flyover country".

I voted Seattle because it's closest to Spokane and Spokane because it's closest to Coeur d' Alene:) . Also Seattle's coffee never hurts :crazyeye: .
