A properly executed cyber attack can literaly destroy our entire economy due to how much is done electronicaly. (Isn't most of the world's currency in e-currency?)
Who cares about electronically? Why not just destroy the power grid?

I dunno. All I know about cyberattacks is some early 80's cyberpunk books and what I have picked up from the New York Times. Not a great background.Who cares about electronically? Why not just destroy the power grid?

What I like about Anonymous is how they only go after douchenozzles like Hal Turner, the Egyptian Government, and this guy.

See, that's what I thought this thread was about from the title. And eleven year old girls, too.

That wouldn't do as much damage as destroying the banks. It would be easier to fix.
Buy...Porn?Yeah but then the hackers won't be able to buy porn.
I'm talking about Nation v. Nation, successfully destroying banks would destroy the entire financial sectorThat wouldn't do as much damage as destroying the banks. It would be easier to fix.
That really depends on what could be done to the power grid. I don't really know what could be done by programming that would do physical damage to the equipment.
I just read some research from Lloyd's on space weather and it said replacement transformers could take 12-16 months to replace. There's only a few hundred built annually and they're made by a limited number of suppliers. There's huge demand in China, India, Latin America and the Middle East so the line would just get longer. You can destroy the generators themselves (which take six weeks to make apiece), you could make the generators turn on at a lower RPM than supposed which would cause energy to surge into the slower generators thus destroying them causing a ripple effect throughout the plant which would cause a ripple across the grid... I think denying power to the populous areas of the country for months (there are only so many generator manufacturing plants) would cause massive devastation.
She had it coming.
No, I've been listening to a man who was director of the NSA and the CIA and people who have been advisors to presidentsMethinks you have watched too much hollywood.
