Most people on CFC are acting like spoilt children. Why do you come to CFC? Because you have friends here, and you have all of the modding community and a fair portion of the strat stuff. If all that goes to CJ (needs a better acronym really) then you're screwed and you will have to visit for downloads. If whole chunks of the community break off then you are going to have to find new mods and new staff and find someway of paying for the use of the server and the bandwidth, so you'll end up with pay-for-use anyway, especially with the sort of bandwidth that a civ site sucks up.
Yeah, I'm from Apolyton, and yeah, I'm against a merger. But if it is for real then those of us that want to stay seperate are fairly screwed.
BTW, if the merger is for real, all CFC demogame teams have to come under Apolytonian control, cos you guys are **** at competing in demogames.

Will Civfanatics and Apolyton still be separate, or will they merge and the old sites be eliminated?
Oh, and if I find out this is an April Fools joke, how about everybody just boycott the forums, permatently? OK, too boring. But we could say something so vile and despicable, they would have to permaban us.

All serious PBEM/ISDG players will go to CDZ simply to make your life miserable.

*shrug* as stated not like I care, not if I don;t have any control over it.
They'll stay as separate sites for about a month or so. Civjunction is already up, but we'll need until about the end of this month to complete merging our respective site features. After that, CFC and ACS will go offline, with civfanatics.com and apolyton.net redirecting to civjunction.com

ok, after reading this entire thread, i find it hilarious that a lot of you think this is real. this is obviously an April's Fool Joke, with TF, Poly admins, and CFC mods in on it. just by looking at the "Civilization Junction" page you can tell its fake. as others pointed out, it only links to existing pages, nothing new. plus, "civilzation junction" is a really crappy name, and I know TF could come up with something better than that if he really wanted to merge sites.
now, to all Poly guys over here, the reason why a lot of CFCers don't want to merge is because of identity. CFC has a separate identity, a separate forum culture then Apolyton and combining the two sites would upset the current culture here. also, as CFC is the flagship Civ fan site, merging it with Poly would only bring us down and up you guys to a higher level, since we have more mods, better OT, and more active site in general. basically, having a decent site like Poly competing against us keeps both sites fresh, updating with new material constantly, and having friendly competition.
(btw, on the off chance this merger is real, I join the Insurgency/Resistance/whatever it's called)
