At Least 120 Dead in Paris Attacks

This is exactly what i was speaking about if it turns out to be true:

"Reports and photo evidence that the 'Jungle' refugee camp in #Calais has been set on fire "

The tragedy hasn't even ended and yet the attacks begin.

I would think it prudent to wait to see who was responsible for this.

Up until this point, prior occurence of refugee camp being set on fire was as a result of the refugees.

Sky News is carrying a feed from BFMTV that says 100 dead at Bataclan.

What I have gathered from the live stream over the last hour or so:
(MOST OF THIS IS NOT VERIFIED - TAKE THIS WITH A BIG GRAIN OF SALT)

At least 4 (maybe up to 7) locations were attacked:

(1) A stadium in a suburb where a football match between France and Germany was taking place:
-> Apparently 3 explosions, 2 of them alledgedly by suicide bombers
-> 1 of these at the stadium entrance (apparently an attacker tried to get inside but was halted outside)
-> 1 explosion in a nearby Mc Donalds

(2) Attack on a concert hall:
-> Between 60-100 people were apparently attending the concert
-> Apparently 2-3 attackers without face masks opened fire with AK rifles within the building
-> The attack apparantly lasted at least 10-15 minutes
-> People first took cover, then many fled via an emergency exit, but there was no panic
-> [UNCERTAIN!] A wounded man from inside the building claimed that the attackers had started to kill people one-by-one
-> Police (GIGN?) stormed the building
-> 2 of the attackers apparently killed

(3+4) Drive-by(?) shootings at two restaurants:
-> Located very close to the concert hall (on the same road, apparently only a few hundred meters apart)

(5) An alledged shooting was reported from a shopping mall (no further info)

Reported: 40+ dead, 60+ injured, but that does apprantly not include any casualties from the concert hall (unverified sources claim 100+ dead there)

State of Emgergency has been declared, French borders closed down

Hospitals around Paris have enacted "plan white" (an emgergency plan to cope with a high number of injured people)

That exact refugee camp also already stood on fire earlier this month:

That happened in bright daylight though, the new photos aren't reposts as many people on twitter seem to assume.

If there was a way to ensure that Europe's borders stay closed to Muslim immigrants, this is it.

Do we have any confirmation that this is an Islamist attack? People are already reacting as if that was the case, just speculation or have I missed something?

I am so confused with your question. Who else can it possibly be in 2015? Carlos the Jackal? This politically meta-correct people are unbelievable.

It's going to be the ugliest thing since the Algerian War of independance.

I suppose we're going to see a large expansion of military operations in Syria now, to make a point "we're not afraid" and for the president to not appears weak.

There's going to be a lot of racists feeling secretly happy.
I don't know of anything that would empower neo-fascists across Europe more than a large Islamist terrorist attack in the middle of a surge in migration from Muslim countries. And they targeted a country where anti-Islamic tension was already very high and which has a far-right party that is already polling very well. It almost makes me wonder if some Islamic extremists would like to trigger a far-right reaction. I can't think of a better way to cause damage to the liberal order that prevails in the West than to provoke the population into electing far-right politicians.

Gulf countries speak Arabic and have the same religion. Why chose Europe?

Of course they do. Baiting the West into turning into the warmongering anti-Islam caricature of Islamist propaganda is eminently sensible as a strategy. Eliminate the centre and force people to take sides. A tactic as old as political violence itself.

Seven location, to be exact. Which is a crazy thing to coordinate and pull in Paris were a simple trip from point A to point B can pose a challenge.

They speak more than 100 death in concert hall alone. What a tragic irony with the American metal band's name: Eagles of Death Metal.

They can't sustain large populations. Foreign expatriates are the vast majority of people there, there are less than 300,000 Arab citizens in Qatar.

Are you serious? What I find unbelievable is how people see politcal correctness everywhere. Do you have a persecution complex?

To avoid a wrong impression you may have constructed about me and the intent behind my question for no reason: my first reaction also was Islamic terrorism. I also thought that it was the most likely scenario.

And I was just asking if that was a confirmed fact.

I thought this was how the world works? You wait for facts to base your reaction on, instead of your preconceived notions, no matter how likely they may be? Apparently not.

On which side though? Just dropping more bombs together with Obama? Or Putin? Or helping Assad? The Kurds can't do all the groundwork by themselves... And what happens afterwards? Who'll be holding the ground when the fighting is over?

This is going to be hard.

Gulf countries speak Arabic and have the same religion. Why chose Europe?
Because those countries are already run by Islamists and their elites helped fund ISIL.

From the French National Anthem, "La Marseillaise"
"Tremble, tyrants and traitors, the shame of all good men. Tremble! Your parricidal schemes will receive their just reward. Against you we are all soldiers. If they fall, our young heroes, France will bear new ones ready to join the fight against you."

Not so much if all you plan on is to cause as much damage as possible. A box cutter/linoleum knife/short machete can be carried in any toolbox, a pistol as well, a submachinegun or assault rifle in a car trunk, also a couple molotov cocktails and so on, voilá, all you have to do is send a few messages on Facebook or another such website which amount to ‘this Friday at night’. If attackers operating in ones or twos can cause so much damage at US university campuses, why not elsewhere? Look at the knife attacks in China.
