Apologies if this has already been posted before, but the search function isn't switched on.
I normally don't put my workers on automate improvements and automate trade network (I like micromanaging) but when you have over 50 workers you have to do it for practicality reasons. Anyway, playing as the Americans, I noticed some of my workers building railroads on German soil as I had an Open Borders treaty with them. I found this unusual considering Germany didn't have access to railroads yet. At least railroads no longer give those big bonuses to production and food otherwise I'd have been subsidising their economy!
Anyone else notice this? Any views on the effectiveness of worker automation in Civ4 as related to Civ3?
