A recent thread has been locked so I won't mention what it was specifically about. But as a result of recent hate groups and white supremacy, other portions of society have stepped up against it.

Airbnb banning white supremacist/neo nazis etc from using their service, either to rent or to use a room, as one example.

Lots of social media sites cracking down on white supremacy as well.

So perhaps the hate is bad in the short term, good in the long term? Because of the backlash against the backlash.

edit: I think recent events have definitely improved the argument for "Nazis deserve to be punched"

How does Airbnb know a person is a neo nazi? Do they ask that in their signup app :D
name, sex, age, disgusting political affiliations.

They do of course go by popular belief, that way, if they ban a person, they're guaranteed to get good publicity without even having to do any fact-checking, or risk going against the majority and losing customers.

The Principle of Causality in action!

When you say "I need rooms as close as possible to Charlottesville for the Unite the Right rally" its a pretty clear indicator. Not conclusive, but a starting point.

The vitriol one gets coming out as a pacifist is mindboggling.

Are you a pacifist of the "stand there and watch while your friends get taken to the gas chambers" variety?

I didn't think he was talking about himself. I thought he was talking about that great pacifist decrying the violence on many sides...on many sides.

What I think is funny is part of Trump's appeal was his non-PCness. Now there's been a backlash against PC which appears to be coming to a head and will ultimately lead to more clamping down by companies/institutions increasing PC.

We're now at an important crossroads when it comes to race. There's definite momentum for people to not accept racism. But then, the question is to mold that opinion. I've notice that liberals tend to brush off concerns about 'identity politics'. They hear the word, and just assume that the person speaking them is not a liberal. But they've not used the principle of charity to examine the underlying concern to see if there's wheat in that thar chaff. My easiest analogue is during the healthcare debate, where liberals express concern about this whole 'remove state borders' idea ... and conservatives literally cannot articulate a non-strawman version of the concern. A lot of anti-racism programs cause damage because the constructors couldn't heed concerns about underlying psychology, nevermind pivot on their ideals to handle them.

Let's go into more detail...if by "damage" you're referring to white people getting butthurt, you will need to try again, because I frankly don't care about Becky with the bad grades or her feelings

Russian media reports that American neo-nazi site "The Daily Stormer" tried to relocate to Russian domain zone, after DNS provider terminated their service in the US :crazyeye:
It was bad idea.
