Bill O'Reilly Makes A Fool Of Himself Yet Again

I am boggled that there's no mitigating context.
I mean, Jesus, shouldn't that be a death knell of reputability?

No. Because the mindset is "us against them", "our news versus their news". The Fox viewers have already picked a side. And they see the opposite side as even more dishonest.

Huh. I didn't really think it was possible for a man to completely miss the point of my post. I'm unimpressed.

well, that's what happens when there r different perspectives...or u failed to communicate your point :)

"us against them?" seems to me that was the original intent of the OP

Objective truth might or might not be partisan. Objective lying is partisan. Objectively, Fox and O'Reilly lie to support the Republican party and conservative causes. But to report that Fox and O'Reilly lie to support the Republican party and conservative causes is not a partisan action. It is just telling an objective truth.

It is not a failure of communication on my part; I have confirmed from others that what I have said was blatantly clear. If it's a matter of different perspectives, it is the perspectives between differing levels of cognitive ability.

To the OP, Glenn Becks Obama=Hitler rants could also qualify as Nazi related things.

I certainly dont. I have and will continue to maintain, that they are all similar enough that they are merely different shades of grey, but not actually 'black' or 'white'.

I think they claimed it was a humorous joke sort of thing.

Context is everything.

i dont find anything objective about this OP.....if u care to go back to my first post in this thread, u will notice that i made a comment which could be applied to BOTH sides....it was forma whom insisted on the "us v them" mindset, which u then reenforced in your penultimate post....

in any case, i dont have a problem with news media (tv papers) putting their own spin on news....it has been done in this country since before it was a country and i can tell the difference between facts and the conjecture that arises from them, however, it is obvious from this and many other threads that many people dont....

and although i am not pointing any fingers, it just seems that the side crying out for "civility" gets a pass....hypothetically speaking....if some nut read this thread calling orielly a "fool", decided to go shoot him, can i then blame forma?

It is not a failure of communication on my part;

of course not...how in the world could u assume responsibilty for your ability to communicate effectively..

 the voices in your head dont count

thank you for providing a very good example of how a fact in your mind, is actually an opinion :)

i do however appreciate your sense of humor

One more thing, Bill O'Reilly doesn't have to "Make a Fool out of Himself" since he already is one, so he can't be made one again, but he can become more of a fool. ;)

No, you see, I communicate effectively to anyone who has at least average intelligence. I believe that duty of mine to be very important. However, I have no responsibility to simplify my statements to those who do not deserve to listen to me.

Huh. A patently false statement (relativistic fallacy) that has absolutely nothing to do what I am talking about.

Seriously, I'm just amazed at the acumen involved here.

:lol::lol: now that is one of the most patently narcissistic (but hilarious) things i have ever heard.... and that is a professional opinion

Once again, bias obviously has nothing to do with this as I clearly stated earlier. In this particular case it was O'Reilly calling HuffPost "far-left Nazis" who use the same "propaganda" tactics as the Third Reich did, and deliberately lying about what they have posted themselves on their website. Is it so difficult to actually remember what the topic of the thread is about, instead of apparently trying to turn it into something you think you can attack?

No other group but the reactionaries seem to have much of an issue about various groups putting "spin" on the news. After all, that is why many of them hate HuffPost so much. And I doubt very many people would take exception with Fox News if that was all they did. I certainly wouldn't. There are plenty of respectable conservative news organizations who "spin" the news to suit their intended audience, but Fox News obviously isn't one of them. They clearly do far more than that. Fox News literally manufactures the news to suit their own agenda.

Deliberately distorting the issues by using deceitful hate rhetoric and intentionally lying obviously isn't exclusively a Fox News problem. That tactic seems to be more and more pervasive with the ultraconservatives these days. No wonder many try to rationalize it when Fox News gets caught.

So you're a professional narcissism detector? That doesn't even make any sense.

yeah, solo private practice since 1993 :p
