I'm starting to come around to appreciating TF's artwork:

Scotland is a funny place. In America, there's always another Protestant denomination more ridiculous than the last, but they tend to act the part, like on some level they're in on the joke. But in Scotland, the more ridiculous your Protestant microsectlet, the more sombre and stony-faced they become, the more grimly convinced that they're carrying on the good work of John Knox in just the fashion he intended. It's hard to get your head around.

You could probably just save time by posting a picture of a fedora. It would amount to much the same time.

Another artist on my radar:

Just because I watch horror movies does not mean I am going to sodomise men on a rafting holiday while screaming at them to "squeal." There are other reasons I do that, which are personal and not really any of your business.

I still don't get the Fedora. Is it a Magritte thing?

Haha, no. It's a reference to fedora-neckbeards.

You know, these guys:

from the article. said:
Neckbeard is a pejorative term referring to unattractive, overweight and misogynistic Internet users who wear a style of facial hair in which a majority of the growth is present on the chin and neck. Neckbeards are commonly associated with hipster stereotypes and Internet addicts who frequent websites like and Reddit.

I don't wear anything like that. I'm not actually overweight (being 170 pounds and 6'1) and not misogynistic even if people with stupid opinions think so. Unattractive, pretty much, but that's a different matter.

edit: I don't wear stuff like that anyway... and I didn't know fat, misogynistic and otherwise unattractive internet users all apparently want to look like indiana jones?

you know, compare what Owen posted:

to how I actually look, as I've even posted pictures of myself on this very site before. :

I mean, I realize I'm not a particularly fine looking chap by any means, but come on.

For clarity's sake, the post was a play on what I perceived to be on caketastydelish's over-zealous response to the suggestion that Rowling adopted the pen-name "J.K." because sexism is a thing, sometimes. It wasn't intended as a slander against his height, weight, appearance or standing with global womanhood. An ironic barb, nothing more.

Why's he displaying a Union Jack? Is Mr Delish a raving nazi?

Looks like it's been through the wash a fair few times, though. Trying to wash the shame out, perhaps.

:rotfl:

i thinked two hard.

Also, I actually know a Fedora. He's an insufferable know-it-all. He writes Star Trek or Star Wars novels - I can never remember which. Surprisingly, he's somewhat successful, or so he leads me to believe.

I was afraid when one of my fellow Spanish brony forumites appeared to be purely stereotypical. as in, fat ugly middle aged man. I was quite freaked out.

Thank you for saving us the trouble of reposting your epic missing of the point in this thread: you did it already yourself. That's so meta. Or was it intended to be ironic?

EDIT: Double crosspost.

Your pleasure.

So, uh, the hat that everybody is referring to as a "fedora" is actually a trilby. The trilby is the thin-brimmed hat that douchebags wear. The fedora is the wide-brimmed "pinched" hat with a crease on the top that Indiana Jones wears. Very different things.

If someone is both a douchbag and an Indiana Jones fan, which of the two are they more likely to prefer?
