I think @Synsensa succinctly explained his take on a tricky situation and did so with a beautiful flourish there at the end. Very well written.
I can see where civver is coming from. Some people are so striking that you have a compulsion to keep looking. People don't like being stared at. And if you're a man, it can feel predatory.

It's beyond "They're pretty." and then just moving on. You just want to sit there and watch the sunset, except the sunset happens to be a person.

The fuzzy drone of a doom metal band starting their set. Although it's as much the feel as the sound: the way it rumbles up through the floor into your body, shaking out all the anxiety and baggage you brought with you, a sort of psychic exhale.

There's an exhilaration that comes with any good band hitting the first notes of a set, but the way this sort of music begins with just the volume of noise, before committing to anything as specific as a song, is something special.
I'm very fond of this description - his words instantly transported me to the moment he's talking about.
