Yes, CivGeneral is a nice person, and he has repeatedly expressed a wish for people to NOT make jokes about this. It would be nice if people would respect that.

I neither wanted to ridicule him nor single him out. It's simply that GW is a very active and vocal poster here, which I'm sure he'll be the first to admit, so it's no surprise that many people think of him first.

Yeah, its fine. I just kinda had a gut reaction when my anti-Godwin's Law post was posted because taken out of context it makes me look really, really bad. I understand that it already may make me look bad to some, but I'm willing to accept that if they know the context.
 
I have no idea. I simply did a reverse date search for his oldest posts and picked one.

Oh, and lol interventionist me. I still don't have that much of a problem with the concept, I've merely realized that the US doesn't do it for altruistic reasons but rather imperial and ultimately self-serving ones. :)
