Well well well, we have an interesting development here.

There is literally a Bush III... and he's Mexican

Truth is stranger than fiction after all.

George P. Bush, the nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, this week filed paperwork required to run for office in the state of Texas.

My jaw is still on the floor.

The GOP's logo shouldn't be an elephant. It should be a bush.

On the other hand, this is perhaps better than the alternative:

I recall people talking about him possibly being elected president in the future back before George W Bush won his reelection in 2004. You've just now learned of him?

After the election, the GOP figured out that they needed to look at stats more. So they did, and they found this:
The last time a Republican ticket without Richard Nixon or a Bush on it was elected was in 1928. Richard Nixon is dead, so there really was just on option left.

They just need someone who will promise to commit an impeachable offense or two if elected. Some of the primary candidates came close - at least in spirit - so it's really not that much of a stretch.

Using that reasoning, there would be two: George P., and Jeb.

That said: RUBIOOOO!!!! :goodjob:

They are hoping for Bush III?

I though you Americans did not like monarchy?

Nah, I don't expect anybody to want to elect either in '16. They want a fresh name, especially after the old one ran the party into the ground.

I don't know anything about this Bush but unless he differs radically from his uncle I definitely don't want him.

I'm somewhat prejudiced since both Bushes failed in my estimation, and I don't want a third Bush to run, I want a fresh name to actually win.

Santorum and Bachmann, I'd vote for the most diehard social conservative if they got foreign policy, surveilance, and economics right but the thing is that they won't. They never will. Santorum is the worst of all four worlds, he's a fiscal moderate [By American standards, I'm aware in Europe he'd be on the radical far right along with Barack Obama, John Kerry, and every other Democrat that isn't Dennis Kucinich:p], which wouldn't in itself count him out, but he's also very pro-war, supports spying on the American people, AND he's a diehard social conservative. If he only missed that last mark, I'd vote for him (Hey, I'd vote for Pat Buchanan) but he misses all four.

Bachmann from what I know is fiscally further to the right but I imagine she gets the foreign policy wrong as well although I'm not certain about that.

My god its almost perfect, a Latino Republican with that surname.
I'm gonna go become a citizen just to vote for'em ;)

Fool me once shame on you.
Fool me twice... you can't fool me again.
Foolme thrice. WTH?

Uh. Wow.

Any info on what position he is running for?

My God, can you imagine how sweet it would be to write the attack ads against this guy ( if he ran for president? )

Would it go like this?

The Republicans name themselves in desire of a state not run by a monarch. Their offer to you is George P. Bush, nephew of former president George W Bush, who is son of former president George H W Bush. Now ask yourself... are the Republicans wanting President George P. Bush or King George III?

Although with Washington would that make him President George IV?:mischief:

His skin tone isn't that dark and he's wearing a suit and if that ain't whitey enough its a Bush! Did the Bush family really do this? I suspect this man was made in a Laboratory of electoral success.

Not really, considering he's his own person. Would you judge Chelsea based on Bill? Or based on Bill's mother?
