CIVILIZATION IV:iNoc

Now I will work on Advanced Economy!

And I will continue doing this until someone shows even the vaguest level of interest in my work!

So if someone shows a hint of interest, you'll immediately stop working on the advanced economy stuff?

That sounds like a peculiar way of doing things. On one hand, years from now you could end up with the most fantastically realistic simulation of the worlds economy that has every been done either in or out of a game. On the other hand, you could end up getting nothing at all done (especially if you count this post as showing any interest rather than as a bit of drive-by comedy).

I meant constantly posting what I am doing. But your post is the funniest thing I have seen all day.

[VagueInterest]Interesting Stuff...[/VagueInterest]

Can you make Turning components on/off (think on iNoc components) for example similar in BTS (No Espionage, Aggressive Al, No Vassal State, etc) ? And i can use/not use there options as in BtS.

[VagueInterest] Very interesting stuff! [/VagueInterest]

I will definitly love to play this mod! The Features (especially resource stockpiling and unit supply) sound promising and absolutely brillant! :) please keep on! :hammer2:

Which components?

Which components?

This is my question :)

That could be tricky to say the least, but it would be very nice. However, the new components I've added are so interconnected that playing without one could cause all sorts of problems. It's sort of like denying evolution. It's all interconnected. If you get rid of Advanced Resources, then some Civs become underpowered, some buildings are useless, probably Advanced Economy will break down somehow, Advanced buildings will fail, and some other stuff might not go great, the same way that without evolution, all of modern science collapses.

BTW, Zlatlo, your image sounded sort of like a command that I must do this.

I post image because i don't know how to explain you what i want to ask you. Keep working and good luck. Do you have some date for publishing?

Statement: If iNoc is done, then I will publish it.
Converse: If I publish iNoc, then it is done.
Inverse: If iNoc is not done, I will not publish it.
Contrapositive: If I do not publish iNoc, it is not done.
Biconditional: If and only if iNoc is done, I will publish it.

Sorry, been spending too much time in math class. :)

I decided Economics is to crazy to simulate in Civ4, or without 50 guys with PhDs, anywhere at all. So I guess it's time for more

Debugging

and

Menial Tasks!

Economy is not that hard to grasp. Do you have any questions in particular? I don't exactly have a PHD but I have dabbled in it (long story).

It's more mixing it into Civ4 that's difficult.

I really like a lot of the concepts you've worked into your mod Voyhkah. Been watching your progress here on the site for a while now too and you appear to have come a long ways and learned much regarding the programming side.

Have you considered taking some of your ideas here and bringing them to C2C? We've had a number of conversations there about a lot of what you're doing here. I think we could end up appreciating your contributions there if you were willing to join us.

Caveman2Cosmos has never been my style. From my experience, it is the antithesis of Kaelianism. In his holy book modding tutorial, the first thing Kael talks about is the Danger of More. He thinks that after a certain level, it's better to add more meaningful features than just more stuff. Although many people disagree, resulting in mods such as ExtremeMod, Next War Advanced, Nations In War, Fall From Heaven II: Fall Further, VIP, and your own Caveman2Cosmos, I agree with Kael and have focused on adding more new concepts and less new stuff. I more enjoy mods such as History in the Making, Legends of Revolution, MongooseMod, and Fall From Heaven II. So while I am flattered by your invitation, I must respectfully decline. If you like any of my ideas, you can merge them when I release iNoc.

Fair 'nuff answer. But I'd like to see you try a game of our mod before making the final decision that less is better ;)

Nevertheless, I will be interested in your source code when you're done :D

But... more is more. It's a fact. Seriously thou, I can't wait for this to be done.

UPDATE: Beginning to add some new bonuses.
