Crusader Kings 2

A better time frame for a Star Wars "feudal" NES would be the centuries before the Ruusan reformation (1000 BBY), when many Jedi acted as sort of combination feudal lords and enlightened despots for many of the slowly contracting territories of the Republic.

The Anglo_saxon_conquest casus belli makes it pretty hard for the Britons to turn back me and my fellow invaders.
The Arian heresy is spreading far too easily most of Spain is Arian thanks to the Visigoths, it's only been reversed in the Kingdom of the Vandals after a random son became Nicene (he's also punic for some reason).
The Eastern Roman empire seems to be unable to convert anyone back to nicene.

Not like anyone's going to be curious about what mod you're playing.

It looks very nice whatever it is. Do tell.

It has a silly name "Rome Must Die" he changed it from fall of rome.
Starts in 475 with Little augustus in Ravenna ruling the Western Roman Empire.

I added Mercia and Wessex (thinking of adding Bernicia in the north) as titular titles myself so they wont be in the download.
Gave me something to work towards pushing the Britons back.
I'm not sure if he's still working on it, but if he is you'll have to get the newer version from video game generals section of fourchan, search for the title "grand gtrategy general" (or search /gsg/) they have the link in the opening post usually.
There are 2 other mods, those are Victoria 2 though.

I've been wondering, how far have any of you guys spread your dynasty around Europe, either by conquest or convenient marriages? Particularly the latter? (i.e. another branch of your dynasty controls it, but not necessarily your branch)

Right now in my game I'm playing as a (custom created) Chinese dynasty of Irish Kings, and thanks to some convenient marriages, my dynasty is posed to control not only Ireland and Sicily (which I somehow managed to win through the Crusader), but also have (or will have within a generation) cadet branches ruling over Wales, England, France, Poland, a major duchy in Byzantium (in Anatolia, I think), Naples, a couple of HRE duchies, and I'm trying to see if I can get someone in Georgia eventually. I had a relative in Aragon, but things got messy there and the kid died. Hopefully I want to have the majority of Europe controlled by the glorious Chang dynasty by the time the century ends, enough that I can take down the HRE blob with my superhordes of allies. Maybe I'll have Chang Emperors on both the HRE and Byzantine thrones, if I'm lucky!

Before SoI, I had a united Britain, Normandy, and Brittany under my family, with a cadet branch ruling Navarre (which was the only Christian kingdom left in the Iberian peninsula and had taken most of Castille and Aragon, rest was controlled by the French, HRE, and myself through crusades), another cadet branch ruling over the massive Duchy of Aquitaine in France, and two more cadet branches with duchies in the HRE. Didn't play much past 1350, though, so I still had some time to branch out more.

I have a bunch of kingdoms in my main game which I've been ignoring for awhile, but France and almost Croatia are part of my dynasty too. I'm also third in line for France, so I'm probably going to absorb it after the two old guys ahead of me die and I murder the king.

I got a king with great intrigue and wife with even better intrigue. My spymaster who loves me has 28 intrigue and is in the capitol uncovering plots.

And yet my heirs are dropping dead left and right. I'm down to my last son and daughter and I'm not getting any decent assassination chances on the suspects.

So are the killers of landless heirs always going to be the next in succession or can it be some other a-hole?

Are your heirs in the capitol?

Check to see who hates you and has higher state intrigue and then murder all of them.

Make sure your spymaster is uncovering plots, though. Sometimes I accidentally set him to build a spy network.

Everyone loves me though.:(

I just checked and spymaster is uncovering plots in my capital county.

By the way, now everyone and there brother is trying to kill my spymaster. Seriously every couple of months I discover a new plot to kill him. Every time it's from a different person. My Marshal, some random guy, some random guy's wife, some vassal's wife, then my wife...

I'm pretty certain now that my spymaster is on some kind of rampage and that he killed my heirs. I can't think of any reason all those people would want to kill him if he wasn't giving them a reason (like trying to assassinate them). But he doesn't have any traits like mad, possessed or ambitious.

Just to be sure, I've kicked him off the council but he is still in my court. Need to figure out how to get rid of him for good.

I guess I'll matri-marry him off to some random woman far, far away. Maybe even turn him loose in some realm I don't like. I don't want to take tyranny penalty for executing him.

Anyone ever have something like that happen? First for me in many games.

Random people like trying to kill your spymaster because it makes killing you and yours a lot easier, and you essentially just did that.

But all in such a short period of time coinciding with all my heirs all dying? It's a bit curious that he uncovers plots against him but not plots against anyone else in court who ends up dead. T

I can always put him back but damn I swear I think he's a CK2 Gilles de Rais or something.

I think I'll save, get rid of him, get another good spymaster and see if the random assassination plots continue.

I don't know, I've just had a past of random old ladies trying to kill my spymaster. Hopefully it'll stop when you get a new one. If he was the one killing your kids, maybe he's a relative of yours or working for the ambitious trait?

After seeing the A Song of Ice and Fire mod, I really really want to play this game.

Too bad I have a scant amount of free time, and $40/$50 is a serious investment on my budget :-/
