I'll take a look at it. If you have other barb spawns that seem excessive, please report them here too.

Re Parthians: as far as I'm aware, the Parthians were a distinct Persianate people that happened to conquer Persia, giving rise to the Parthian dynasty. So they're more alike to the Kushite dynasty of Egypt or the Machu dynasty of China (as opposed to the Qing term).
IMO it's mostly the Ancient/Classical era Barbs that are excessive. The AIs simply can't handle them.

I was under the impression that Persia is supposed to represent all Persianate people before the Islamic conquest. After all that's the case for India, China, and Greece. None of these civs is separated into multiple representations because of the different ethnic origins of their various dynasties so why should Persia be. The Parthians (and the Sassanids) are better represented as a dynamic name for Persia (there are no Sassanid dynamic name for Persia as of now), not as Barbs.

FYI Re: Emperor Taizong of Tang, his wife, mother, and paternal grandmother are all Xianbei, a nomadic people originating from north of the Gobi desert. If you do not represent the Tang dynasty of China as barbarians, I don't see why Parthia is represented as such.

Edit: Dynamic Names for Persia:

Running Pantheon, before the Greek conquerors: Median Empire

Not running Pantheon, before the Greek conquerors: Achaemenid Empire

Running Pantheon, after the Greek conquerors: Parthian Empire

Not running Pantheon, after the Greek conquerors: Sassanid Empire

The barbarians coming from the north of Persia gave them a lot of trouble (Rome was saved at various points because of this), I see no reason to take them out.

China is attacked from the north as well, after all.

I'm not suggesting to take them all out.

I'm just suggesting taking out those named "Parthians", or rename them into something else.

Or do you want to spawn "Confederate" Barbarians in America around 1850 as well? If so, I will drop this subject.

If you have better names, go ahead.

Before Persia spawns:

Lydian
Median
Assyrian (already exists, but there should be more under this name instead of "Sumerian")
Elamite

After Persia spawns:

Scythian
Bactrian
Indo-Scythian
Greco-Bactrian (barb Hoplites)
Yuezhi
Tocharian
Khazar

The following already exist, I think:
Hittie
Kushan
Hephthalite
Göktürk
Turkish

Been playing this for many hours and want to say big thanks to you Leoreth.

Got one question though.
Is it possible for me to change the UHVs for civs and if so how can I do that.
One UHV I want to change is the german control Russia, England, Scandinavia, France & Italy in 1940. I'd like to change it to control or vassalize if it's possible.

Thanks! :)

You need to be a least a little bit comfortable with Python to change the UHVs. I can't give you specific instructions right now, so I'll edit them in later.

It just happened a few hours ago.

Hahaha, yeah, both are applicable to varying degrees ;)

Was it so you could moderate this forum?
Not really, the staff was looking for additional moderators to take care of OT especially, and for some inconceivable reason decided to ask me. Considering my main activity they also made me a mod for the C&C forums.

But this thread is not the right place to discuss this, there's a thread in the Site Feedback forum announcing peter grimes' and my promotion to junior mods if you really want to talk about it. Now that you're fully informed about everything we can resume discussion of the mod.

This sort of thing. This subforum usually doesn't require mod intervention though, so nothing will really change for you here.

Only admins can do that I believe.
