ah damn it, lets just go with the terra. Is the considered plan for that map is shot and thus rescinded, yes.Has Omega ranted at me for wanting to change the map in the interest of a friendly game not involving genocide after it gets yelled out to the heavens, yes.

But at the very least we will get to see what happens and potentially see the hallowed Hail Mary

OOC AND TENATIVELY: As I understand it, extensively colonizining the new world will reduce the impact of our culture. Since an attempt at cultural victory is being discussed, there is a good chance that our construction in the new world will be limited. Japans concern has every possibility of being unfounded, although the decision may be changed once we learn more about the situation.

My concern about the map wasn't so much about what polynesia could do, I made general plans to deal with those possibilities before someone snitched. But rather that I did not look forward to the obliteration of any sense of amicability in the game. I generally would think that wiping Polynesia off the map so early in the game is unnecessarily unsportsmanslike, even though it was a logical action if the collective joined in.

So once Omega revealed that someone snitched I thought I might as well try to get the map changed (although I did try to get the map changed earlier for the same reason) to avoid the unpleasantness that I was planning and circumvent any need to engage in such things at all.

Now yes I have expressed the fundamental strategic inbalance in favour of Polynesia in the game as it will go ahead. But thats not the main reason why I wanted the map changed (although I must admit it would be an added bonus in getting it removed ) compared to the interests of making the game more friendly by avoiding early genocidal war.

If Polynesia gets destroyed Babylon will be glad to accept refugees.

OOC: So would Japan, but as I have said previously, I am not going to go out of my way to screw over Polynesia on a terra map.

If they run away with the game I can acquire "I told you so" rights. If they don't then I don't really lose anything other than seeing that the plan wasn't necessary after all and that this whole argument has actually been good in that it obliterated my plan, thus preventing its nastiness from ever emerging.

You might like to create a Mongol social group to ledger your orders to CivOasis so he can finally get this show on the road. Or you could do it via PM, but who knows, Balkor Wolf may return at some point and want to get some information quickly and a social group regardless serves as a good place to conveniently store information for later perusal.
