Did you know open carry is legal in Penn.?

Where is the outrage over racial profiling when cops do it to white guys in the ghetto?

Of course, but I believe that trying to fake your identity is a crime. At least, in Canada, if you lie about your name you can be charged with Misleading/Obstruction.

when you start digging up cases I'll start giving a . .. .. .. ..

Oh that does happen. Assuming you're white, just go to the nearest big city and go to the 'blackest' area and see if any police ask you what you're doing.

It happened to me in DC a few times in the 16 years I've been driving there. But I know that won't be good enough for you. And of course it never happens. White people are never pulled over in black 'hoods. And while I'm sure you won't give a damn even if I did provide cases. That would shatter your "America is rasist" soap box.

America is racist as your anecdote just showed. Racism works both ways silly. You were wrongly pulled over for being white. Does that actually diminish the claim that it happens to black people?

So when I get pulled over by white cops its rasism?

True here also but only if they police can prove your lying about your name. They can do this several ways with out an ID.

how does person who neither owns nor possess a gun commit a crime with a gun?

Someone who doesn't have a gun but tries to steal one has committed a crime involving a firearm. Someone who doesn't own a gun but tries to buy one for his felon friend is also committing a firearm related crime. Someone who has had an old illegal machinegun locked in a safe in his basement and is committing a crime with out actually "possessing" the gun. Some guy in a court room who doesn't have a gun but manages to wrestle one from a deputy and kill a bunch of people, ect, ect...

I'm not complaining, Penn is allowed to have the rules it wants.

It just seems to me that a felon with a gun is unlikely to be charged with "Providing a False Name" unless he's also being charged with other crimes related to the gun. It'll just be tacked onto the list of charges.

I honestly can't think of a way for the cops to tell if someone carrying a gun is carrying one legally.

 thanks for showing that violent crimes with guns actually requires the acquisition of a gun in the first place

If IDs are not free, then its a poll tax.

At least in Pennsylvania, when you register to vote, you get a voter identification card from the Voter Registration Office. Registering to vote costs you nothing and the free card can be used as identification at the polling place. It costs you nothing to vote.

Identity theft/fraud is a crime. In America, you can call yourself whatever you want. The police don't have the authority to demand identification from you unless you have a committed a crime or there is probable cause to assume that you are about to.

Of course, most of the time they're just concerned for your safety and want to make sure you're not going to get yourself jumped. I've had this happen to me before. I was walking through Oak Brook -- don't ask -- later at dusk and a police cruiser rolled by and me being a white guy alone on foot, he stopped and asked what my business was. I told him I was just passing through on my way to my uncle's house and he told me that I shouldn't walk through here this time of night and asked if I wanted a ride. I accepted and he told me about a couple of kids who were skate-boarding through the other day that got jumped. One of them was nearly killed -- fractured skull. I later found out that one of them was a friend of mine and his...either his cousin or little brother.

They really can't.

Look, I am law-abiding citizen. I don't bother anyone. If I want to exercise my rights, I shouldn't have to face constant harassment and questioning by authorities to do that. What if people were asked for their identification every time they protested the government?

Oh my hunch would have been that he thought I was looking to score drugs.

That happens, too. It really depends on where you are. If you were in south Reading, the police know that there ain't no Earthly purpose for you being there. In Oakbrook, it is reasonably that you're just passing through or might be lost on your way to somewhere other than there.

Hey, I understand (mostly!).

Is it legal to have the gun drawn?
