It is tricky running a DipNES. You have to be very strict about how you enforce your rules, or else people will get angry at you. Also, for the second half of the game, I consistently had to remind over half of the playerbase to send their orders on time. I think a DipNES would work well if people have a very good idea of what is expected in their orders, and if they are all highly interested in Diplomacy.
I'd be willing to run another game on the condition that I got 7 people who promised to send their orders on time, or at least ask for extensions if they couldn't.
