No argument that Gajah Mada would be a great choice for a Civ leader.
The idea of a conqueror who slaughters his enemies in order to gain political
power being a "good guy" is just nonsense.
I bet at least one wonder will be included in the upcoming DLC. I'm betting on Borobudur (if the SE Asian Civ is Indonesia), or perhaps Angkor Wat (its inclusion would make more sense if the Civ turned out to be the Khmers). It could be a totally different wonder of course, but I miss the above two wonders.
So far, SE Asia is not represented by any wonders in the Civ6 game.

As far as I know, Cinnamon and Nutmeg were the spices most associated with the Indonesian spice trade (and were two of the unique luxuries they got in Civ V).
From the Nubian DLC it would be a safe bet to say we might get a wonder and a scenario. Borobudur is the best choice since we are more likely than not getting Indonesia/Majapahit. Due to the trade history of the region I wonder if we would get another Gold based scenario.
Remember, there is a chance that we might end up getting a Natural Wonder.
I'm about to verge into theorycrafting civ design here, so skip if you aren't interested.
Ed Beach mentioned in an interview that they like to take civs' tools and reuse them from one to another. He gave an example of the Culture Bomb for Poland's Encampments and Forts and Australia's Pastures. Another example is a Unique improvement getting added yields for adjacent districts a la the Nubian Pyramids and Pairidaezas.
So, here I reimagine Cleopatra's LUA mechanic as Indonesia's UA.
Spice Islands:
A declared friend's Trade Route to your city will yield +2 Amenities in the sending city and double their gold yield for you.
If they included the Trungs it would be as one leader as they are, for all intents and purposes, treated as a single item. Plus that is probably makes them more likely to actually appear in Civ VI, the duel ruler dynamic would translate great into this game (although I don't expect to see them in this DLC).
As for the forums, and espcially the Steam forums, there is not a single option for any leader or any civ that is not going to get a bunch of people shouting about the travesty of said choices.
Having the Trungs as one would be a great idea and that can fit the two leader system better as we could have the Trung Sisters lead Vietnam and our Mysterious Indonesia as the other civ.
After being Falsely accused of being an SJW, being called a sexist, being blamed for starting a Politically charged argument that wasn't my post that started, and after seeing depressingly negative threads everyday with endless flame wars, that's why I migrated over here. When Civ 7 comes in the lime light, I'll be sticking over here for the Civ 7 stuff as well. I know when I read the Civfanatic forums for stuff like DLC 05 Anticipation thread I can see a much better forum compared to the steam forums, I want to say the Forum moderators here do a much better job and I really appreciate that.
Yes a little off-topic, let's go back to the topic of the upcoming DLC.

Given we are nearly positive that it is a SEA civ clearly it must be
1) Two different SEA Civs
2) one SEA civ with 2 leaders
3) One SEA civ and a leader for an existing civ, given the context most likly China is the only option I could see working there

In my opinion China wouldn't be a good fit, I mean it's East Asian not South East Asian. We cant seriously go back to Africa either, if we were to receive a second leader for Africa then we would've gotten at least some news about it around the time Nubia was announced and subsequently released.
It has to be either one SEA civ with two leaders or two different Civs for SEA.

One could very liberally count India as Southeast Asian. It's really not, but most of Southeast Asia other than Vietnam is heavily influenced by India and many, many players would welcome an alternate leader for India.

I have to take my hat out for you guys, you are all truly fanatics! I can't get myself to feel happy with this game anymore. Actually, after waiting a long time for the next DLC plus patch to improve things and get the opposite with serious bugs I had it uninstalled. I lurk and read texts more than I play ciVI games and see a new post from EP with theories and educated guesses is much more thrilling haha
Rationality wise I know I shouldn't but deep down I still have hopes
