Pretty simple question: do you like where you live? I'm keeping it open ended, so answer the way you want to answer—for your subdivision, your town, your country, whichever. Would you want to move, and if so, where? Across town? Overseas? What do you like about where you live? Dislike?

My answer will come later since I'm out and about and posting from my iPod Touch.

Yes, I quite enjoy where I live. Though I am definitely planning to move to California or Washington State when I get older.
I like where I live because it has a Ski Resort and it's just generally nice and very pretty scenery. Though I dislike it because it's so small and it's in Idaho.. :p

I like it here in ny right now, but i'd definitely live overseas again given the chance. You miss the good ol states when you're gone, but the second you land on the airport, you start hating all the crappy things about it. Grass is always greener I guess

Indeed I do. I guess the main criteria would be weather, safety, access to stuff and socio-economics. I'm happy with all of those (though I'm not a fan of Sydney summers). I'd be nice if Sydney was closer to the rest of the world, but pickers can't be choosers.

I like my home as well. Moving to a bigger, more expensive and newer place would perhaps be nice, but I'm fine with where I am.

It's alright. Bit provincial in some respects, but it's also an actual city, and I've learned when to cut my losses.

Edit: Could use a decent second-hand bookshop, though. You'd think a university town would have one. :(

No.
It is stressfull. There is too many stuuuuuupid people. There is a lacklustre and ineffiecíent government. There is a huge disregard for nature and living beings. The prices are too high. There is in general a amoral(to me) population.
AND I can't wait to get away!
heheh

Only thing I like about where I live(Copenhagen) is the TWO clubs! That play nice music.

I like where I live.

The benefits:

- A medium-sized town with a small-town feel and big-town amenities

- 1 hour driving time to 2 great lakes (Erie, Huron), 1.5 hour to 3rd great lake (Ontario). There are lots of nice beaches within reach. Also a lot of provincial and national parks around here, both on the coast and inland.

- 2 hour drive to Toronto, Detroit, and Buffalo. 1.5 hour drive to Niagara Falls. There used to be a ferry to Cleveland, which I think altogether would be a 2-3 hour long trip. I don't know if that's still operating.

- It's relatively cheap to live here yet we are close to a lot of stuff. Real estate is cheap.

- We have North America's best 10,000 seater arena. (At least it was last year). Most big bands stop here.. Also have North America's longest continously operating baseball park (Labatt Park)

- It's a university & a big party town. The hottest girls you'll ever see "study" here.. Was on Letterman's top 10 list of places to get laid a while back :goodjob: (I don't take advantage of this too frequently because I am a gentleman)

- We're known as the "forest" city, there's lots of trees, parks, etc.

- There's a large Polish community = lots of European/Polish deli places to shop at

- We hosted the Canada Games a couple years ago and are hosting the World Skating Championship next year (or this? I have no idea, but it's soon).

Cons:

- We don't have a ring road (highway around the city)
- It's not as an exciting of a city as Toronto or Chicago for example. We have a busy and exciting nightlife, but nothing like a truly large city.
- Suburban sprawl. It's not out of control but it could be better
- No IKEA
- Most of my friends live in other cities :(
- Public transit is alright, could be a lot better, no LRT

Overall it's a good place to live. We're a medical research centre of sorts, which comes in handy too. I have a good stable job at the University and get along with my coworkers.. Own a house (it's a duplex, no need to chime in Perf, if you're reading this) and can actually afford my mortgage payments and still have a lot of money left over for luxuries.. Like I said it's close enough to Toronto to go on roadtrips there.. I usually do that for TFC games or to visit friends. I go to Detroit only when I have to fly (it's really cheap to fly in the U.S... Toronto is one of the most expensive airports on the continent).. Niagara Falls.. almost never go there, but it's close.

Hehehe warpus.
EVERYTHING in my country is reachable withing a 3 hour drive  (well nearly)
(just a point in the other thread about driving, sex and so on )

It's alright, could be worse. Air pollution, and cost of rent, are my biggest issues right now.

Could certainly be worse; I mean, I'm comfortable. Prices are good. But there's really nothing here, it's just podunk.

It's pretty decent, though there doesn't feel like much to do post-university.

Still, it's not Dundee.

I haven't been to any place I'd rather live (although a few in Europe were pretty cool).

I like the area I live in because while it is a city, it is a small one and doesn't imeped upon the bounty of natural beauty this area is rich in. There are amazing views of the mountains, forests, ocean, beaches and islands with pretty much every out door activity available. The ski mountain is excellent and does not have to make any snow with machines (unlike Whistler) and is very convenient to get to. There are also plenty of small and large stores, and if you need someone not available here there is the internet or you can drive south for an hour to the closest big city. We also have our own airport.

Property/house prices are usually rather high though, but that is a problem in much of BC (unless it is a really dead end town where no noe wants to live because there are no jobs). Rent isn't usually cheap but it isn't expensive either. We also don't have a real nightclub. It isn't perfect, but it is pretty damn awesome and I don't really care about any shortcomings (don't really care about sports, big concerts, too much consuemrist shopping, etc).

Where do you live Warpus? London?

I love Toronto, easily best city in the western hemisphere aside from the cold.

:vomit:

I don't even like Vancouver, which actually has been voted as one of the best cities in the world.

Southern Virginia, USA. I love it, and I love it here. It's a quiet countryside type of place, but not too far from the rest of civilization or the stores that distribute Civilization. :p

No. I do not want to live in a big city. The more I do the less I like them.

Man should live in his own house, far from dense, highly urbanized areas in a low or moderately populated area. That's natural to him.

Moscow is a nice place to live, though. Not the nicest of big cities here, it has its problems too, and the main are: traffic jams, omnipresent cars and long and sometimes unpredicted time needed to get somewhere.
