I have nieces and nephews and very old OLD folks, who many would prefer to call as more childish than the children, to take care of.

So on the point of having little diaper fillers calling me their parents right now, no matter how cute my friends tried to convince me they are, I'd probably have to say no for now.

I like the concept of children, but I can't do squishy or slimy stuff at all, so babies are completely out. I also can't cook, so I'd need a live-in housekeeper, who's prepared to work for very cheap. As my dad says, the only person I'd find who'd do that for me would want to marry me instead. :)

Yes please. I'd love to give children the love they need, not to mention grant my parents their wish to be grandparents. My brother will be long dead before he has any kids I tell you!

Dunno if they'd be biological or not considering the whole gay thing. I'd love to be a volunteer for male eggs though.

I got two. They're not my biological kids, and I am ok with that. Too many people in this world as it is for me to start making more.

Have you seen Idiocracy? If you're smart enough to realise that there're too many people, that may change your mind.

I'm sure somebody's working on two-sperm cloning / baby-cooking. If the world were a saner place, you would be able to adopt (or can you?).

Thissssss

... that's not what the child support papers say.

I have a lot of respect and feel a certain discomfort for those who do not want kids.

Unfortunately I find that it is the intellectually enlightened to trend towards not having offspring. Though I don't think "Idiot Nation" is even remotely realistic, I do think we're missing out.

ROFL, "I do have kids and I wish I had none."

I have no intention of directly passing my line due to children being maddening money drains who are constantly extremely annoying, especially for the first three years. I also have a large family to carry on the line instead of me.

Having children is basically playing Russian Roulette with an innocent and unconsenting life.
I'm not sure I agree, but I think that's a pretty interesting perspective that has not been adequately explored.

I'm curious: do you place much value on the continued existence of the human race, in and of itself? Because if that is of a great deal of value, then conceivably it could outweigh the potential harm from having at least some children. (Although given our still pretty decent birthrate, that's not terribly applicable to any particular random individual) I think you should start a thread on this. :)

I can't wait for our little daughter to be born in August, and we want to have one more after. You think you have done crazy things or had life changing experiences, then you have a kid and realize you have not done anything yet.
