Ekmek's Civ4 Leaderhead Gallery

FYI:

I merely wanted to fix the hair on my Trung susters but its grown into much more. So I'm updating the Trung sisters. I wanted to try Coyote's baking so I'm doing that to compress the files
I'm also using the GIMP normal filter to make my own normal files.

I'm also updating some of the animations since I had a few work arounds in there so I figure I'd clean those up.

So I'm back to work. I figure I'll be doing some cleaning up and some new LHs as I go along. cant promise schedule though.

Awesome! :king:
We will all be here, waiting for the results ;)

Ekemek, for some reason I can't find or notice anything wrong with what I have done but apparently I have unweighted vertices that I can't attach. I don't want to delete them in fear that it will ruin the model. Is there a way you could take a look at my model?

EDIT: Yeah, I get rusty pretty quickly, but I feel I bounce back quicker. So if anybody is reading this it is about Camillo Benso, sorry about the amount of time I have spent on this project, but I just want it to be right.

post the link. I usually find unweighted vertices fairly quickly and I have time today

Okay I think I'm done with version 2 of Trung

I like the changes
Both the hair and the hat looks way more realistic
I guess it's also intentional, that both silk clothes look more "blurry"
Ehh, blurry is not the right word. It's hard to comment on that without checking it ingame
Also, there are some new animations? I can't wait to test the twins ;)

Overally, great work!
Glad you are back :king:

That's a big improvement! Great to see you back Ekmek :)

Hey Ekmek, back with my usual question:
Did you have some time recently to work on finishing Theodora?
Or to check some of those older LHs you said you want to update?

I'm working as fast as I can boss!

I'm actually doing stuff in spurts because of RL commitments and playing Civ5 when I can. But stuff I'm working on includes a LH for a friend, I do have parts of Theodora in work - but I have to rerig because the Qin model that I rigged to just won't work out I think.

For older updates I started baking and shading Simon Bolivar but then I saw some stuff to fix so that slowed me down. I need to fix Jeff Davis and Reagan. Abu Bakr and Ibn Saud are there too.

For new LHs - I know what I need to do for Nixon but I havent started because I think I should do the above first.

Glad to hear you plan on doing Nixon sometime. As a personality coder, I've been dying to make Tricky Dick. Love doing crazy/backstabbing leaders

Hey :p
I'm just hoping (as always) that some of your great LHs are soon to be finished
Btw, I remembered you posted this a few months ago, that's why I asked:

But soon I'll be on travel for work which means I'll have a lot of downtime at night to do LHs in March.

Anyway, thanks for the info

Don't worry, I'll keep Ekmek busy ;)

Hi Ekmek,

I used your LH guide for the first steps to make my own leaderhead (if you're interested, a link is in the request thread). That wouldn't have been possible without you.
I tried something new (i was terribly bored). I wanted to give Sejong (in the Database) the animations of Frederick, so he differs from Taizong, another LH in the mod i'm helping to build up. So i did roughly what was told me in the LH guide. I imported Frederick, then i imported Sejong and united the two (with bones; though you advised against it. It was just convenient to do so, because every vertice is assigned to a group). I got rid of Frederick's vertices and Sejong's bones, and ended up with Sejong at the place of Frederick, and Frederick's bones of course.
Then i exported it to nif, no problems so far, but when i tried the animations it just looked horrible...like he was whining at me a silent "please...kill...me" (which i did)
So the question is: is it even possible to switch inbetween LHs and animations? It's just that i want to spare myself a useless day of work of assigning a boneless nif's vertices to groups.

not sure what you mean in the red but its yes in a variety ways

1) some models are compatible with other animations (alexander with casear's for example). Refa, ambrox, and I did a animation compatibility index a long time ago. but for you situation I don't think fredrick and sejong will work.

2) then there is the skeleton swap. Its like the nifswap in my guide - and think this is what you tried - where you make sure the bone name matches etc. but once you do the swap you have to import it into blender then export it. Blender aligns the meshes so they are not warped. Not you may have to do some moving around to make sure stuff is lined up in blender with the skeleton.

let me know if #2 is what you are trying to do.

Yeah, sorry for my english.
I tried 1) first, but that didn't work out. An error about master root or something along those lines. It's interesting though that it works for some LHs
I wanted to do 2). But i've been working in Blender the whole time, so does that mean i need to export my model to nif, then import it again to blender and export it again? I don't really know about the nif <-> blender translation, so i wouldn't have tried that.
I have almost 2 weeks off soon, so time isn't an issue. Somehow it will turn out okay.

Does anybody have an older version of the Meiji leaderhead?

Where is the leaderhead request thread?

Please use the stickied thread for graphics modifications ;).

Does anybody have an older version of the Meiji leaderhead?

I think i have it, but i'm currently not at my gaming PC.
So if Ekmek or anyone else doesn't have it anymore, then drop me on monday or so a PM.
