Honest excitement over an honest Democrat gaining an honest political advance?
You should think twice about what other numbers have gone up with political victory. Who are you talking to?

Covid casualties have a political effect in one election. These take 5.

I figured it out by contemplating his words in the cold light of morning. He's referring to the recent report that the number of abortions in the US has gone up since Dobbs was decided. That's what "cull the young" means.

Edit: i didn't even see the post directly above this one, but....yeah

Suuure ya didn't. ;)

Edit: But that's snarky even if whatever.

So yes, Sommer. Far be it from me to stiff you all on your hard earned political advance. Honest credit on the solemn pride that must be ours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Well, even putting the threshold of personhood aside, I didn't abort anybody. That said, Dubner and Levitt would make that same connection to crime statistics FWIW... so I guess its one of those so many omelets, so many eggs kind of questions, especially if we're getting into "solemn pride". Speaking of which... invoking Lincoln on siblings dying in the Civil War to blame abortion for Biden winning... is kinda gross, and a non sequitur... clever of course, as always... but still gross... and more importantly, a non-sequitur.

I'm not blaming it on Biden winning, I'm blaming it on your (the royal you) political stances.

It's only gross if you're too squeamish to watch what is demanded.

But I bet I know how the it smells. Sterile iron.

Blaming what on Democrats' political stances?

A month ago the mission was accomplished, Trump would win fer sure,
Now the mission is accomplisched, Trump will lose fer sure.

Maybe, and this is just thinking outside of the box, the mission is still going and will finish early November, so anyone predicting anything is just rolling die?

I know why you wanna hate me
'Cause hate is all the world has even seen lately

Cc @Sommerswerd & @Hygro

In the context of the election something we haven't talked about is covid killing off a lot of older people, who tend to be both Republicans and high-propensity voters...there was an actual peer-reviewed paper published that found covid measurably affected Trump's vote in 2020 compared to 2016 looking at the county level.

Given that the pandemic isn't really over, and that death rates have been markedly different by partisan affiliation ever since the vaccines became widely available, does anyone think there might be a covid-effect on the vote in 2024?
Given how little the margins were in 2016, yeah they would have to. And possibly even for Biden's support though less so given the death rates vs affiliation.

i am very vaguely pointing in a direction of a box of nothing.

I don't get her, being critical of dem establishment makes sense, flipping to supporting Trump... Something going on in the brains of people that I can't seem to understand
The mind of Tulsi Gabbard is one of the most elusive things of our age. Detested at one time or another by both the left and the right, aligned with Bernie Sanders and then in favor of Donald Trump, yet fitting in nowhere among the parties, she is certainly on a journey somewhere. One thing she cannot be accused of is being like anyone else...

Too complicated, eh? This isn't the Clinton era: "Safe, legal, and rare."

Policy goals and political goals are being achieved. So, back to where apparently it gets difficult - Congratulations, countrymen, well done. I recognize your successes.

The only reason anyone on the left ever liked her is because they didn't know who she was beyond being an early Bernie supporter, and as I said, it was mostly just an anti-Hillary thing than anything else. If I had to try to pin her down to something, it's that she's socially conservative (but originally trying to pretend not to be to fit in with the Democrats), economically sorta populist but not that much, anti-establishment, but only the American establishment- she quite likes some foreign far-right governments like those of Putin and Modi, which I can only chalk up to her being the type of person who thinks of global foreign policy in a very team-based black-and-white way where America and its allies are bad, and therefore anyone opposing them is good.

Lex already told you, to which I have responded.

At this point I'm out of suggestions other than maybe try reading(it all again)?

I supposed she'd be entitled to change things in it if she wanted to. I'll keep my ear open for any sign she means to do so.
