The Rules of Martial Law, for the city of Hammerfel (once called North Corel)
1) All persons in open revolt against the Lanun state will be executed without trial.
2) All persons convicted by a three-Captain jury of treason against the state will be executed.
3) Any Lanun soldier killed due to the actions of rebels will be avenged with the deaths of five residents of the city.
4) Any native Lanun citizen killed due to the actions of rebels will be avenged with the deaths of three residents of the city.
5) Other crimes shall be punished according to the Pirates Code, although should there be a unanimous decision among a three-Captain jury punishment for crimes may be changed.
6) There will be a curfew beginning at nightfall. Exemptions are possible, but those found out of doors without an exemption shall be fined, imprisoned, or enslaved at the discretion of a three-Captain jury.
7) Public outcry against the Lanun state will be punished with fines, imprisonment, or enslavery as determined by a three-Captain jury.
8) Searches may be made at the discretion of military Captains, without warrants.
9) Any resident of the city may be taken for interrogation for a period not to exceed three days for any reason. After that period, they must be charged with a crime or released.
These laws shall be enforced until such time as martial law is relaxed in the city.
